The PayPal Enterprise Services Platform team is looking for a Senior Manager of Engineering to lead the Bot Platform team. This team has an exciting charter to build a best in class Customer Self Service experience for PayPal users across multiple channels like Chat, SMS, Voice and other social media channels like Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp etc.

Job Responsibilities

  • Build, launch and maintain multiple bots trained for solving specific issues and enable PayPal customers to self-service themselves on the PayPal platform.
  • Build a Bot Factory which enable faster development and training of Bots.
  • Partner with Business, Product, Architecture to build a Bot Platform 3-year strategy that can extend the Bot Platform capabilities beyond chat and into servicing other channels like SMS, Voice and Social Media, and form an Omni-channel strategy.
  • Come up with a clear execution plan including estimates, hiring, ramping and training the team
  • Show technical leadership to a group of seasoned software engineers. Motivate and mentor them for success.
  • Maintain highest level of system availability (99.9%) and put together a plan for coverage for any live issues that may come up.

Qualifications

  • Good understanding of Machine Learning, Deep Learning and Natural Language Processing techniques.
  • Previous experience with building a large scale Bot Platform is huge plus.
  • Having a Platform mindset and previous experience building PaaS (Platform As a Service) capabilities
  • Ability to design, build and maintain large scale distributed systems including real-time, near-real and batch systems and datastores.
  • Good understanding of Microservices, REST architecture.
  • Prior experience managing managers
