As a Data Engineer, you will join a team that works across the organization using machine learning to build intelligence into our products. You will be a key member of this team working on all types of data requirements of ML team as well as other teams of Honey org. You will contribute towards building foundational infrastructure that powers numerous products in Honey ecosystem. We are just getting started and this will be an opportunity to define You will take part in building the next generation of software that will enable customers to save money on everything they buy. You can expect to work with other engineers, product managers, and data scientists. Since we’re building from the ground up, you will need to design, implement, deploy, monitor and iterate your area of ownership. Your contribution will impact how Honey provides a better way to buy and make money more fair for everyone.

What you will do:

  • As data engineer, lead a component design/development to design scalable big data infrastructures.
  • Design, coordinate and execute pilots, prototypes or proof of concepts to evaluate new technologies and frameworks
  • Build scalable data pipelines infrastructure
  • Build data infrastructure while focusing on data quality, data availability, and data reliability
  • Support Machine Learning team in their data needs

About You:

  • A computer science or equivalent graduate or undergraduate degree or equivalent with 6+ years of building large scalable and reliable enterprise technology platforms using Big Data open source technologies such as Hadoop, HBase, Spark, Kafka and Elastic Search / Solr
  • At least 3 years experience in large scale, production, server-side development on the JVM, Scala, Python and/or GO
  • Experience with building RESTful API’s is a plus.
  • Experience with building real time application is a plus.
  • Hands on experience with engineering developer tools- GIT, Dockerization, Continuous Integration frameworks etc.
  • A passion for software engineering and for developing robust, scalable software systems
  • Public Cloud (GCP) working knowledge is a plus
  • Hands on experience in DevOps practices – significant advantage.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams for their data needs
  • Willingness to learn and follow best software engineering practices
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
