As we continue on our quest to democratise financial services, we are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join a new Team shaping up iZettle's developer platform. In this role, you will join a group of passionate people working on helping our partners succeed with quality integrations to the iZettle platform. Among other exciting challenges, you'll have a golden opportunity to build the backend of while playing a central role in defining internal guidelines and standards to help our product teams develop top-class APIs. The skills you need to succeed


At iZettle, we all believe in using the best tools for the task and that's why we continuously review our toolkit, architecture and ways of working. Today we work with Java 14, Kotlin, GraphQL, Dropwizard, Wildfly, Docker, Terraform, PostgreSQL, and everything is hosted on Amazon Web Services.

  • A demonstrated experience and a sound expertise in Java 8+ and PostgreSQL

  • A solid track record in building and maintaining quality, standardized, RESTful APIs

  • A strong expertise with Swagger / OpenAPI / “API-first” experience

  • A strong background with microservice architecture

  • A craftsmanship in automated tests (integration/system tests, contract tests, etc.)

  • Great communication and collaboration skills

  • A wide Pair/Mob programming experience

  • A continuous learning and knowledge sharing spirit

  • Familiar with AWS (SNS/SQS, EC2, ECS, RDS, API gateway, etc.)

  • Comfortable with UNIX (shell, ssh, git, etc.)

  • Proficient with Postman for Enterprises
