PayPal is seeking a qualified Analyst to join our EMEA Marketing Analytics organization. This team ensures the measurement of marketing activities (Consumer and Merchant), provides analytical consulting services and delivers high-quality reports, models and campaign evaluations. The scope of this position primarily covers the support of the Marketing Team of the EMEA region.

A typical day for the Senior Analytics Associate will include:

  • Leading and performing deep-dive analysis using analytical and statistical tools (primarily SQL and SAS) on very large, complex, multi-dimensional datasets
  • Driving to actionable insights and recommendations, communicating them to senior management
  • Setting up and managing a clear and robust process for pre-campaign test design, in-campaign reporting and post-campaign evaluation to support channel mix, message mix and targeting decision.

What does Success Look Like?  

  • You have participated in analysis of key initiatives impacting EMEA Consumers and Merchants (Marketing, Product, Customer Service, Risk, Sales)
  • You have partnered with other EMEA Analytics team and with global analytics team to ensure best practice sharing and collection of insights
  • You ensure rigorous quality control over data, analyses and metrics, and organizational clarity and alignment for key business and marketing metrics,
  • You have built and maintained pan-EMEA reporting tools on Marketing performance and Customer KPI

About you:

  • Degree in statistics, computer science, economics, operations research or mathematics preferred
  • First-time experience gained in a position such as a business analyst, online analyst, data science analyst or similar. Experience in B2B business a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience with statistics
  • Strong technical skills, including SAS, SQL, Excel, BI software (ideally Tableau)
  • Ability to structure problems and synthesize large quantities of data into clear conclusions / recommendation
  • Commercially savvy – able to translate analytical studies into actionable business insight

You might also have:

  • A passion for problem-solving, flexibility, comfort with ambiguity, creativity, and hunger to constantly ask "why?"
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Fluent English is a must and fluency in German is a plus.
