PayPal is looking for a passionate, self-driven security insider threat engineer who can work as part of a team to deliver insider threat analytics, investigate insider threat incidents and build automation and orchestration in the insider threat field as part of PayPal’s Cybersecurity Operations. The candidate will be expected to quickly become a contributing and effective member within the insider threat team team after a reasonable amount of ramp-up time; leaving plenty of time to get familiar with the systems and our organizations own adoption of certain technologies.


Responsibilities

  • Support the design and deployment of a comprehensive security infrastructure to support real-time security monitoring operations
  • Drive large incidents with multiple teams independently towards resolution
  • Communicate with all levels of technology and operational staff, assist in creation and follow methodologies, creating clear, concise deliverables
  • Investigate internal issues using multiple platforms
  • Provide accurate evidemces from Insider Threat investigation
  • Establish and oversee the tools, processes, and operations of user behavior analytics as well as the investigation team’s portion of an enterprise insider threat program
  • Conduct risk-based analysis of users and groups across entire enterprise; develop investigative action plans based on findings.
  • Lead highly sensitive, complex, and confidential high-tech insider threat investigations into incidents of data loss and intellectual property theft, technology misuse, conflict of interest, and other types of matters.

Job Requirements

  • Availability for full time job
  • At least 4 years experience in Information Security field
  • At least 2 year experience with Insider Threat or DLP teams
  • Deep understanding of tools and processes used in security incident and Data Loss Prevention and handling
  • Analytical thinker and process oriented
  • Highly motivated, goal driven, innovative, curious and open minded
  • Self-learning and bility to preform in-depth investigations
  • Experience with large production environment with many types of services, databases and components
  • Regular Expression capabilities
  • SQL capabilities
  • good communication (written and verbal) skills are required
  • Experience with Splunk to create complex queries and alerts
  • Bachelor's degree; Master's degree a plus.
