The Scrum Master position is within the First Line of Defense Internal Controls Center of Excellence (FLOD COE) and will be responsible for leading a scrum team focusing on the needs of the COE. The individual will guide a fully dedicated, cross functional team in providing solutions that have a high impact on the organization. The person we are seeking must be a servant leader, self-motivated, analytical, with proven experience influencing and effectively communicating across the organization. He or she should have proven scrum master skills along with the ability to build relationships/partnerships and work cross-functionally to drive time sensitive deliverables, solution tracking and reporting to completion.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a Scrum Master on a newly formed business intelligence team with the focus on delivering analytics and data reporting to the FLOD COE and its business partners
  • Create a high performing team that provides high-quality solutions that meet business expectations
  • Lead the team through ceremonies, problem-solving activities and other similar exercises
  • Build a release and sprint plan based on a prioritized program backlog
  • Communicate the team performance, accomplishments, and challenges to all levels of leadership
  • Support change management activities enabling the organization to fully understand and utilize the features developed
  • Improve the team’s understanding and execution of agile and scrum development practices
  • Effectively utilize Jira to manage the team’s work while maintaining effective performance reporting.

Core Duties:

  • Guide a newly formed business intelligence/analytics team by utilizing Agile practices to craft, evolve and enhance the team’s scrum approach.
  • Guide the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to delight customers, mostly internal.
  • Guiding the team on how to get the most out of self-organization
  • Removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment
  • Managing dependencies with other agile and non-agile teams
  • Facilitating getting the work done without dictating the work
  • Facilitating ceremonies and similar team meetings.
  • Providing transparency in the team’s accomplishments, challenges and current state
  • Establishing predictability in the team’s delivery of requested features 
  • Establishing and maintaining the team’s performance reports
  • Assessing the scrum maturity of the team and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization.
  • Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be discussed and focused on being solved
  • Supporting and educating the Product Owner, especially on grooming and maintaining the backlog
  • Providing all support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible, and leading by example.
  • Work with extremely talented peers in a fun environment building performance efficient, highly scalable, configurable solutions spanning multiple technologies and platforms
  • Participate in special projects as needed and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience required
  • CSM, CSPO certifications preferred
  • CST, CTC certifications a plus
  • Experience in financial services industry preferred
  • Experience leading an Agile Analytics team preferred
  • BS/BA Degree or educational equivalent
  • Knowledge of SAFe or similar scaled agile practices preferred
  • Knowledge of SQL and one or more of these DB’s - Oracle, MySQL, Teradata is a plus.
  • Experience with Tableau or other visualization tools is a plus.
  • Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, conscientious, thorough and accurate
  • Strong interpersonal skills, diplomacy, and client service oriented attitude and mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, oral, presentation skills)
  • Proven ability to function well independently as well as in a team
  • Ability to prioritize deliverables and projects to meet timelines efficiently, to adapt to changes in priorities quickly and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously to drive projects to completion and deliver quality materials under tight deadlines
