Sales Engineer (m/f)


As SALES ENGINEER you will cooperate with the Large Merchant Sales teams in the DE-AT-CH region to acquire new customers for PayPal’s online payments products and services. 
You will have the end-to-end ownership of the merchant integration project. This includes understanding the merchant processes and needs and consult with the integration of PayPal to best serve those requirements. Additionally, you are responsible to assure PayPal best practices to positively impact the buyer experience. 


RESPONSIBILITIES:

•    Cooperate with PayPal’s Sales teams in presenting PayPal’s Solutions to the largest merchants and partners

•    Provide detailed solution design and technical guidance to top tier merchants and partners

•    Gather business requirements and provide solution proposal to merchants and partners with complex integration needs

•    Ensure merchants implement PayPal according to best practices

•    Be recognized as a subject matter expert and influence key PayPal internal stakeholders.

•    Effectively communicate technical concepts at the level appropriate to the audience  

•    Use market and competitive environment knowledge to craft and deliver compelling proposals to merchants and partners.

•    Assess implementation risks; work with external and internal stakeholders to proactively and effectively remove obstacles to successful project delivery. 


EXPERIENCE:

•    Bachelors or Master Degree

•    A proven record of working with Internet and mobile Internet based commerce and ideally payment systems (carts, gateways, platforms).

•    Demonstrable experience in technical pre-sales, implementation and / or consultancy. Existing optimization experience considered favorably.

•    Outstanding verbal and written communication with the ability to successfully interact and dynamically adapt communication styles with all levels of client organizations.

•    Experience with Internet Technologies including Web Services and the ability to technically troubleshoot applications /code.

•    Analytical Skills, the ability to provide tangible insights from a range of data sources.

•    Ability to present and train on product and technical solutions.

•    Experience with mobile and tablet app development/testing considered a plus.

•    Fluent in German and English
