PayPal is seeking a Robotics Process Automation (RPA) Developer to join its Transformation & Enabling Technologies organization within Finance as part of its Finance Automation Program. The Developer will work closely with Finance, Technology and Compliance teams to support task automations (e.g., production support break-fix, small enhancements) implemented using the Blue Prism Robotic Process Automation software. Additionally, the developer may participate in the solutioning and development of new task automation implementations in Blue Prism.

As a primary responsibility, this position will provide production support for Blue Prism task automations that have been implementated.  Each new task automation will be transitioned to the overall support team which includes this position.  Any small enhancements to the processes in production will be addressed (solutioning, developing and testing) by the support team.  As time permits, the RPA Developer will assist with new process task automations being implemented.  The successful candidate will be highly analytical with good attention to detail, possess excellent oral and written communication skills and be a collaborative team member.

Responsibilities

The scope of responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting existing processes/task automations and implementing change requirements as part of a structured IT change control process
  • Intaking incident tickets and analysis and resolution of needed break-fix/de-bugging issues (e.g., analyze, design, build and test)
  • Problem-solving issues that arise in day-to-day running (“run the business”) of Blue Prism processes and providing timely responses, solutions and resolutions as required
  • Creating and maintinaining technical documention for Blue Prism processes 
  • Partnering with external resources to complete development of new task automations, where applicable
  • Designing Blue Prism process solutions in accordance with standard Blue Prism design principles and conventions
  • Configuring new Blue Prism objects using efficient, well structured workflow principles
  • Facilitating meetings and workshops with business and technology stakeholders, where applicable
  • Other activities as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS or related field is preferred
  • Development experience in a robotics process automation tool (Blue Prism, UIPath, Automation Anywhere, etc.)
  • Blue Prism certification preferred
  • 5+ years of related operational support experience, preferably within the technology or financial services industry
  • Apptitude for trouble-shooting issues
  • Experience with agile development and software development life cycle (SDLC) processes
  • Experience with SQL, web services such as REST or SOAP, web application development (e.g., HTML/CSS/JavaScript)
  • Experience with the IBM BPM application preferred as there may be integrations between the Blue Prism and IBM BPM applications
  • Ability to understand a business process based on a workflow diagram and to conceptualize it as an automated solution while using business analysis skills as needed
  • Ability to work with process modeling tools such as IBM BlueWorks Live, Visio, etc.
  • Understanding of unified modeling language (UML) or technical design documents relevant to process modeling and design
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Affinity for a high-performance, project-oriented work environment; ability to pivot to critical path tasks as necessary
  • Team oriented individual and self-starter who excels at learning new processes and business functions
  • Good communication skills with the ability to present technical details to a non-technical audience.
  • Good written skills with the ability to produce clear and concise documentation
