The Recovery Specialist is responsible for communicating with small business owners, merchant processors or other authorized third parties regarding current and overdue accounts. This can include servicing the customer’s questions, establishing and negotiating a repayment agreement and addressing potential UCC inquiries. This is a role that will allow you to assist in managing our profitability and make a difference daily. As our business and our customers evolve our Recovery Specialist continues to develop new strategies to approach any challenges that may come our way.

As a Recovery Specialist at PayPal, you will:

  • Utilize independent judgment to analyze the customers’ ability to pay and establish a payment plan  
  •  Communicate with business owners regarding their loans
  • Discuss alternative solutions based on a review of financial and bank statements
  • Perform creative skip tracing techniques to locate customers
  • Document all communications with business owners , processors and authorized third parties relating to accounts

Qualifications for success:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business related major
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • 2+ years commercial collections experience
  • Ability to effectively multi-task with a changing environment
  • Maintain composure under pressure and in confrontational situations
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and additional hours as required
  • Ability to work within a team setting with all levels of the organization
  • Proficient PC user, including experience with Microsoft Office suite
