The User Experience Design (UED) team at PayPal champion’s user centered design across our organization. Working in partnership with Product and Engineering teams, we build the next generation of financial services products. The User Experience Research (UER) team, working with our Design partners, designs and delivers impactful research that guides our work and brings the voice of the user to all we do. We are looking to recruit a research participant Recruiter to join our UER Recruiting & Operations team. The Recruiter will join a small team of research operations specialists who are responsible for delivering seamless, quality operational support to deliver best in class user experience research. Working with Lead Recruiters, researchers and partners, the Recruiter implements recruiting approaches that support research study objectives. They will have responsibility for delivering well targeted, rigorously screened participants for research studies and will continue to contribute to the overall recruiting and operations function through learnings and best practices. They will also be capable of managing multiple projects at once if required. The successful candidate for this role will have strong interpersonal skills and be project orientated. They will have experience of communicating with customers. They will also work with 3rd party recruitment companies on projects for a wide range of different initiatives and stakeholders across PayPal.


Individual project recruitment:

  • Understand research study goals and participant criteria.
  • Translate criteria into survey screening questions.
  • Program the screener in our self-service tool.
  • Manage and filter responses.
  • Recruit and confirm participants (incl. follow up, rescheduling, reporting).
  • Process paperwork required (e.g. NDAs).
  • Issue incentives.
  • Communications; stakeholders, vendors and participants.
  • Stakeholder management.
  • Project intake, triage, vetting and delivery.
  • Screener writing and screener development support.
  • Incentive management.
  • Management and provision of customer lists where required.
  • Outsourcing of projects to approved vendors with support of the Lead Recruiter.
  • Training/coaching for stakeholders on participant recruitment best practices.


  • Bachelors’ degree or equivalent.
  • The Recruiter position requires a highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills.
  • The successful candidate will also be detail orientated, well organized and comfortable working under pressure.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience in a research recruiting role.
  • Bilingual/second language (Spanish).
