The Relationship Management (RM), is responsible for managing the installed base of merchants and is the primary business relationship owner responsible for merchant’s satisfaction and for growing PayPal volume.

The Relationship Manager is responsible for up-selling products and developing promotions to grow our Merchant Service business with medium size PayPal Merchants in Brazil. In this effort and in conjunction with Sales, Integration, Marketing, Product and Customer Service teams, the Relationship Manager will be responsible for orchestrating efforts to drive growth in volume (TPV and Revenue) and market share (SOC) while ensuring unparalleled service levels.

Through open and collaborative engagements, the Relationship Manager will focus on building and maintaining successful long-term relationships with our key Merchants.

The position will have the following responsibility:

Responsible for driving revenue within a portfolio of PayPal’s medium merchants.

Build relationships with Merchants’ senior management that engenders trust, confidence, loyalty, awareness and mutual benefit.

Demonstrates exception communication skills including extensive experience effectively communicating in a boardroom environment.

Works to resolve issues that threaten health of business relationship

Learns merchant’s product pain points and wish list; understands priorities and urgency; communicates this knowledge to PayPal management; keeps merchant informed of product roadmap; manages business relationship during post launch re-integrations

Facilitates meetings with PayPal functional groups (Product, integration, Risk, Ops, Mkt, etc) for learning and confidence building purposes;

Communicates sensitive news to merchant such as a rate or reserve change, the need for a change in contractual terms or the need to obtain confidential information for risk management purposes.  Negotiates if appropriate

Identifies and pursues opportunities for PayPal to penetrate new properties or channels within an existing merchant or family of merchants, bringing in or responding to sales initiative when appropriate.

Sales Driven Results: managing and driving merchant relationships to achieve desired goals - own and drive the business results leveraging product, marketing, and others to ensure goals are met. 

Resolution management: resolving urgent merchant-specific issues by partnering with PayPal cross-functional partners and merchant to ensure swift resolution and merchant success.
