Relationship Manager, Large Enterprises will be responsible for growing our business by collaborating with key large merchants. The RM will be leading portfolio of merchants generating both domestic and cross border volumes. The role requires to grow volumes and number of PayPal user in Japan, and also pitch PayPal solutions to the merchants.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement plans to aggressively drive PayPal’s growth with large merchants in portfolio
  • Serve as a lead and high-level contact for specialized and strategically important Merchant clients in Japan
  • Understand the overall industry trend/insight to ensure PayPal’s business strategy fits the growth of that industry
  • Understand and analyze the merchants’ business and operations, including future business direction, so that PayPal’s business grows along with merchants’ business growth
  • Maintain good relationship with merchants and responsible for maximizing PayPal’s share of wallet against competitors
  • Responsible for cross-selling and upselling PayPal’s products and services to meet or exceed share of wallet goals for the portfolio
  • Plan and execute initiatives for merchant activation and promotions to increase Paypal’s share of merchants’ total payment volume and PayPal’s consumer base
  • Act as primary liaison with internal key contacts (Sales, Marketing, Product Marketing, Operations, Merchant support, Finance, Legal, Risk, Compliance etc.) for merchant engagement matters.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required;
  • 8+ years of experience in experience in corporate sales, business account management, consultation or solution provision.
  • Prior experience in marketing to corporate customers, contract negotiations and experienced in account retention.
  • Experience in IT, E-Commerce, and Payment segments is highly preferred.   
  • Comfort with Data / Analytics and using it to advise Merchants, monitor and track effectiveness / performance, and drive decision making are must. 
  • Verbal and written skills in Japanese and English.
