Retention and Expanstion of existing large merchants.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement plans to aggressively drive PayPal’s growth with large merchants in portfolio
  • Serve as a lead and high-level contact for specialized and strategically important Merchant clients in Japan
  • Understand the overall industry trend/insight to ensure PayPal’s business strategy fits the growth of that industry
  • Understand and analyze the merchants’ business and operations, including future business direction, so that PayPal’s business grows along with merchants’ business growth
  • Deliver against growth targets and sales priorities for a portfolio of merchants.
  • Maintain good relationship with merchants and responsible for increasing PayPal’s product penetration and overall share of payment volume across the merchant portfolio.
  • Be responsible for cross-selling and upselling PayPal’s products and services to meet or exceed share of wallet goals for the portfolio
  • Ensure the merchant delivers best in class PayPal experiences to our consumers
  • Plan and execute initiatives for merchant activation and promotions to increase PayPal’s share of merchants’ total payment volume and PayPal’s consumer base
  • Act as primary liaison with internal key contacts (Sales, Marketing, Product Marketing, Operations, Merchant support, Finance, Legal, Risk, Compliance etc.) for merchant engagement matters.
  • Be comfortable building and reviewing pricing models and building compelling commercial pitches.
  • Be comfortable working with complex contracts

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in corporate sales, business account management, consultation or solution provision.
  • Prior experience in marketing to corporate customers, contract negotiations and experienced in account retention.
  • Experience in IT, E-Commerce, and Payment segments is highly preferred.   
  • Experience in using Data/Analytics  to advise Merchants, monitor and track effectiveness/performance, and drive decision making is a must. 
  • Verbal and written skills in both Japanese and English language
