The Regional Product Marketing Manager (PMM) strongly influences the success of our merchant products by serving as the connection point between a primary segment of our merchants in one of our major geographic regions and our global product and engineering team. The PMM will have core responsibilities serving as the regional product manager for one or more essential product lines within merchant engagement across all merchant segments. Focusing on Merchant on boarding and Merchant servicing, each one including 10s of products and domains.

Some of the regional product marketing manager responsibilities may include:

  • Delivering whole solutions across geographies and segments
  • Gathering & documenting detailed product enhancements and optimisation, based on a solid understanding of PayPal’s systems, our desired customer experience, the EMEA market and our brand
  • Managing some of the day-to-day activities to ensure we deliver new products to market on time & on budget as well as optimise existing ones.
  • Coordinating across a wide variety of internal parties regionally to manage products and activities for existing customers
  • Developing go to market plans with the different functions to achieve our target numbers
  • On-going regional management of products– meet the targets, resolve product & operational issues, optimise and enhance the value proposition
  • Analysing customer data to identify opportunities for improvement and growth
  • Working with the product team to identify specifications as well as to define new enhancements, optimisations and features
  • Delivering these features to market and tracking the impact on our core customer experience metrics
  • Research into key customer problems and pain points, documenting them and working to solve them.

The PMM will be expected to:

  • Quickly acquire an understanding of how our products work from a technical and functional perspective
  • Coordinate & solve problems across a variety of fronts
  • Perform ad hoc analysis where required – requiring strong grasp of Excel, power point and word.
  • Lead and manage specific work streams within product in market launch and optimisation.


From an inbound perspective, the PMM continually defines the most important merchant needs and opportunities that will best help a segment of our merchants from a global opportunity perspective. PMM actively interacts with merchants to deeply understand their needs as well as any unique country, regulatory, and currency requirements. 
PMM frequently collaborate with their PMM and product management (PM) peers across the globe to distil the set of needs across all countries and regions into an overall set of globally prioritized needs and opportunities for a merchant segment.


From an outbound perspective, PMM leads the planning and execution of our go-to-market activities for a segment of our merchants. The role is primarily focussing on merchant engagement across: Merchant on boarding, merchant servicing: reporting, disputes, funds management and much more across EMEA and the targeted segments. The PMM works with Marketing to design and execute marketing programs that educate our customers and drive demand. 
 

Responsibilities:

  • Be the expert on merchant engagement across multiple domains and segments
  • Collect, distil, and communicate the top merchant product needs and opportunities
  • Deeply understand our merchant products, their value propositions, and their roadmaps
  • Translate product release into compelling value propositions that meet merchant segment needs
  • Actively participate in product requirements and product validations, and serve as the key connection between product teams and merchants
  • Team with regional marketing and sales to define and execute go-to-market plans

Requirements:

  • Experience with Internet Technologies such as Web Services, API Interfaces (SOAP, NVP, JSON) HTML/CSS/Responsive Design, Javascript/jQuery, and FTP/SFTP and ideally with one or more programming language (C++, ASP, Java, .net, PHP)
  • Bachelors or equivalent / higher
  • Several years’ Experience in Product Marketing or Product Management or other
  • Experience with product and portfolio strategy
  • Track record of B2B segmentation and significant solutions launches 
  • Customer-driven innovation / Design-thinking preferred
  • Knowledge & experience in payment processing and “merchant engagement”
  • Experience to drive transformational change programs preferable in multinationals 
  • Fluent English required, UK based role with some travel.
