Working as part of the Global Governance Risk & Compliance team, the Prudential Risk Manager – GGRC EMEA will be responsible for supporting the Pillar II Reporting team. The incumbent will be also required to enhance the PayPal Luxembourg operational risk database for risk and modelling applications. Specific duties include:

  • Supporting the Pillar II reporting framework for the Luxembourg Bank (Recovery Plan, ICAAP, ILAAP etc.) and for the ICAAP submission in Russia;
  • Working with key stakeholders (e.g. Treasury, Model Risk Management, GGRC Russia) & to ensure inputs are received when expected and that results are meaningful and make sense;
  • Acting as part of a team, ensuring internal and external submissions are scheduled to ensure timely delivery;
  • Maintaining a high level of quality assurance, drafting updates with language and punctuation that is concise and accurate as well as presentation that is professional;
  • Assessing and communicating the impact of model results on the Lux and Russia operations;
  • Addressing regulatory queries / ad-hoc requests relating to submissions;
  • Syncing up with Global peers to facilitate implementation of policy / process changes as well as feedback on models used;
  • Seeking out efficiencies for process and capacity improvement including automation;
  • Supporting the EMEA GGRC Director and Prudential Risk Lead in delivering results to Authorized Management;
  • Engaging in advance regulatory research and analyses in respect of EMEA regulations impacting each legal entity (EBA, CSSF, BCL etc.);
  • Risk Appetite development & monitoring
  • KPI, KRI development, monitoring and dashboard presentation
  • Preparing and present periodic updates for executive management;
  • Project management
  • Assisting GGRC EMEA during onsite inspections by local regulators, internal and external audit;
  • Liaising with GGRC peers in resolving exam findings, particularly those which directly affect Prudential Risk;
  • Challenging, resolving, and communicating issues to internal stakeholders;
  • Assisting the International GGRC teams in any related initiatives outside of EMEA.


  • Risk professional, preferably with a Big 4 background and ~8 years’ professional experience in in e-commerce/payments/financial services industries;
  • MA (or equivalent) preferred;
  • Significant experience in Pillar II reporting and Operational Risk Database development;
  • A strong focus on process efficiency, automation and quality assurance of output;
  • Understanding of regulations affecting the Banking and Payments industries across EMEA;
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with fluency in English mandatory;
  • Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and deliver in a fast paced and dynamic environment with a high degree of personal accountability, integrity and trust;
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within cross functional and remote teams;
  • Ability to create and maintain a balanced, positive work environment;
  • Willingness to travel approximately 5-10% p.a.;
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team;
  • Ability to share information, transfer knowledge and expertise to team members;
  • Ability to escalate issues and seek guidance as required.
