This role will report into our Regional Communications Director based in Singapore and the role incumbent will support project management and execution of consumer and merchant communications efforts across SEA. The candidate should ideally have at least 5-7 years of working experience in external communications. A candidate with some experience working in a larger corporate environment, or with technology companies is preferred. The candidate should also be proficient in MS Office applications. Design skills are highly welcome.

Programming

  • Live and breathe PayPal’s vision and mission to be a “Customer Champion” and champion our consumers and merchants through impactful storytelling. At every opportunity, nurture and build advocates for the PayPal brand.
  • Develop a keen understanding of the key segments for PayPal in APAC to develop relevant communication programs that will move the needle with the target audience.
  • Help to develop and execute the Consumer and Merchant APAC communications plan in the spirit of being a “Customer Champion”.
  • Actively mine consumer and merchant stories and case studies in the region
  • Think from a transmedia approach across owned, earned, social and influencer touch points to create an ecosystem of influence on the desired target audience. This includes media relations, APAC social channels as well as leveraging global owned channels such as PayPal Stories, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram.
  • Lead content development for toolkits, assets and press materials across multiple touch points.
  • Lead the agency execution, and liaise with the agency team to ensure good storytelling results are achieved for each program and/or announcements.
  • Collaborate with the internal teams specifically legal, IR and Infosec on the necessary alignment and approvals needed pre-roll out.

Regional Coordination

  • Consolidate an overview of Consumer and Merchant communications plans across APAC with the objective of driving operational excellence, scalability and consistency so that PayPal shows up on brand across APAC
  • Ensure operational excellence, scalability and consistency in programming with the objective of enabling APAC markets.
  • Identify APAC initiatives that are relevant for amplification in Global owned channels such as PayPal Stories. Work with relevant stakeholders in APAC and Global to create a regular cadence of content for PayPal Stories to ensure that APAC is well represented.
  • Closely collaborate with Global Consumer & Merchant communications stakeholders as well as PayPal Stories team to understand how global milestones have an impact in APAC and ensure that Global has an understanding of the unique environment APAC operates in.
  • Support in the socialization of APAC priorities and plans among APAC marketing and global communications.
