As part of PayPal’s Corporate Affairs organization, the Social Innovation team works cross-functionally to drive positive social and environmental impact, build partnerships and initiatives to further our mission, and measure and share our impact with stakeholders. We’re focused on four key areas: improving the financial health of people and businesses; powering charitable giving around the world; strengthening the communities where we live and work; and managing our environmental impact. The Project Lead of Impact, Reporting and Stakeholder engagement will work with the Social Innovation team and Corporate Affairs more broadly (as well as partners across the company) to capture and tell our impact story, establish a regular cadence of content and engage stakeholders. The successful candidate will leverage strong project management skills to develop and execute strategic plans. As a team coordinator and cross-functional integrator, they will develop and maintain key collaboration and knowledge sharing processes; support the continued development of mutually reinforcing content development, communications and stakeholder engagement plans; oversee the management and upkeep of Social Innovation channels and assets; contribute to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) reporting efforts, impact research and thought leadership content; and support ongoing efforts to evaluate/monitor our success.

Responsibilities to Include:

  • Coordinate social and environmental impact story-telling and content development in partnership with team leads, internal business partners, and external agencies, including:
    • Conceptualize and develop people- and data-centric content (infographics, case studies, videos, etc) to share PayPal’s social and environmental impact with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Work with team leads and product/program owners to identify milestones, accomplishments, and thought leadership opportunities.
    • Participate in the Corporate Affairs’ content community of practice – contribute story-telling ideas and help weave social/environmental messaging and proof points into broader pieces of content.
    • Manage creative agency partners to scope and execute content development projects.
    • Help develop informational decks and handouts for employee orientations, convenings and external engagements.
    • Build a bank of impact assets, including statistics, quotes, case studies, photos and other resources that can be used to help tell PayPal’s Social Innovation story.
  • Collaborate with the Communications team to develop an annual external comms plan for Social Innovation and Environmental Sustainability. Facilitate the process of updating informational and planning tools, including content plans, key messaging documents, and hot sheets.
  • Work with team leads, ESG Reporting and Internal Communications to establish a regular cadence of employee communications on the company’s social/environmental impact, new and ongoing initiatives, and opportunities to get involved. Help develop and maintain a blog and/or newsletter and coordinate with Communications on weaving impact storylines into all-hands meetings and broader employee communications.
  • Oversee the development and evolution of Social Innovation and Environmental Sustainability channels/assets, including establishing new and updating current corporate and intranet sites.
    • Work with team leads to establish/clarify story-telling and engagement objectives, and assess areas where improvements and/or modifications are needed.  
  • Support the development of the annual Global Impact Report and the completion of ESG surveys and award submissions by identifying compelling stories, centralizing annual metrics, and highlighting programmatic achievements.
  • Develop and implement systems to help track key stakeholders and associated interactions, coordinate with team leads to share relevant content and updates/progress and support efforts to identify and build relationships with new stakeholders. 
  • Support the continued advancement of the Social Innovation and Environmental Sustainability team with measurement development, stakeholder engagement, cross-functional collaboration, conferences/events, and other responsibilities as needed.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in social and/or environmental impact, corporate social responsibility or related field.
  • Previous experience working across teams/functions and managing agency engagements.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the landscape and trends in the social and environmental impact, as well as relationships of relevance in our space.
  • Strong organizational skills – ability to successfully manage multiple projects/deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator, with a strong attention to detail
