We are looking for an innovative and experienced technical learning expert to partner with leaders and SMEs to design, develop and implement Technical Curriculum and programs focused on strengthening technical competence for engineering and IT employees to meet current and future needs. This individual contributor will act as the Product Owner for learning paths, training courses, boot camps and other programs aligning with strategic needs and business priorities to build technical talent.

Technical Curricula, Programs and Solutions

  • Conduct needs analyses, end-to-end design, development, implementation and sustainment planning for programs with the goal to rapidly develop industry-standard and internally relevant technical skills.
  • Analyze the audience, content, technologies, operational constraints and trade-offs associated with selecting the best delivery methods for each objective.
  •  Design programs with a mix of internal and external content, through informed decisions regarding whether to buy, build or modify resources to meet the program needs.
  • Manage vendors in the design, development and deployment of boot camps, providing guidance regarding organization needs, program objectives and ensuring appropriate aligned, quality solutions.
  •  Build curricula that link role profiles/descriptions with appropriate learning paths – ensuring a balance of training, resources and OTJ learning as appropriate.
  •  Understand industry trends related to training and learning and identify opportunities to introduce new best-in-class programs and capabilities to enhance effectiveness of learning (e.g. gamification, social learning, skills assessment tools, learning portals, etc.) particularly as it relates to a technical audience and subject matter.
  •  Ensure appropriate marketing and communications of programs and solutions leveraging appropriate communication channels.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure programs and learning solutions align with defined role profiles, career paths, competency frameworks and internal processes and tools.
  • Build and lead cross-functional program teams that organize, manage, and execute complex learning programs.
  • Scale programs globally and across a number of technologies and audiences.

Governance, Assessment, Measurement and Metrics

  • Continually evaluate solutions for quality, business impact, scalability and sustainability.
  • Identifies appropriate metrics, measures and KPIs are in place to evaluate effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Ability to negotiate vendor contracts, define and manage SLAs
  • Develops tracking and communication protocols for coordination with enterprise Learning or Talent Management System

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in psychology, human resources, organizational development or instructional design; Master’s degree and/or technical degree (e.g. CSE) a strong plus
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a  training, learning or organizational development role at a global technology company and focused on building innovative bootcamps, learning paths and programs for developing technical skills for engineering and IT talent
  • Outstanding verbal and written communications, planning, organizing, attention to detail, and program management skills.
  • Deep knowledge and experience leveraging L & D technologies and tools (Learning and Knowledge Management systems, content authoring, gamification, social media, skills assessment)
  • Experience working with global engineering executives as program stakeholders and engineers as subject matter experts.
  • Deep knowledge of Adult Learning Theory, Instructional Design principles, Curriculum Development, and Technical training programs
  • Ability to build program roadmaps and translate strategies into tactical plans
  •  Ability to take a ‘systems thinking’ approach to solve business problems with learning solutions
  • Ability to link learning solutions to change management/transformation efforts/needs.
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of key areas in learning and organizational development
  • Systems thinker, with strong analytic and diagnostic skills; data- and metrics-driven approach
  • Strong consulting skills and a true customer service orientation towards internal clients
  • Team player with an ability to work well at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to influence and obtain buy-in from stakeholders at multiple levels of an organization
  • Experience building strong relationships with colleagues in diverse geographic locations and executing in a virtual environment
  • Software Engineering experience a plus.
