The Fraud Defense Command Center (FDCC) is looking for a collaborative and strategically oriented business & engineering program manager (PM) to join their team to work with business, product, and technology leaders to identify products and strategies; develop detailed execution plan and work with teams across PayPal. The role will report directly to the head of the FDCC and be responsible for driving a range of multi-disciplinary operating rhythms and transformative initiatives to help shape, implement, and manage PayPal’s response to fraud pressure. This person will need to be able to lead multiple projects from idea through execution when given ambiguous scope and requirements in order to meet tight deadlines. The PM will need to lead project teams with global and remote team members and partners across the PayPal system as well as with external partners. This role demands building strong working relationships with all global functional teams including those in fraud risk, engineering teams, financial crimes, and business teams. Developing detail project plans with key milestones and understanding critical path deliverables will be necessary to ensure adherence to on time delivery of project commitments. Being an effective stakeholder communicator within the project team, the FDCC, and to senior leaders is key to successful project implementation within the organization.

  • Partner on strategic direction on programs with internal senior leadership on large scale efforts.
  • Integral part of strategic planning efforts for both internal and business driven program.  Input is critical in setting roadmap to meet the need of customers.
  • Works on high complexity programs defined at the FDCC senior leadership level.
  • Frequently interfaces with PayPal Risk & Platform leaders within and outside of team
  • Has established working relationships that enable self-direction in gathering requirements and scoping work.
  • Point of contact for project escalations
  • Identify program impediments and address including proper escalation to individuals/groups as needed
  • Lead program retrospectives and commitment to improvement on a regular cadence

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of professional related experience required
  • BS/BA degree required, PMI certification is preferred
  • Fraud or financial crime background preferred
  • Must have experience tracking against KPI’s, building and quantifying KPI’s for a new program preferred
  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills. Would be driving conversations and work among technical engineers, data scientists, fraud investigators, policy experts, and leadership across all levels.
  • Must have a calm demeanor and ability multitask and manage multiple pressure situations in parallel and drive accountability from stakeholders.
  • Ability to get buy-in and collaboration from diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving and creative thinking skills.
  • Agile lifecycle management experience preferred
  • Must be able to lead multiple projects spanning multiple locations domestically or globally
  • Must be able to work independently and knowledgeable of Project Management processes, communications, and roadblocks
  • Must be highly interactive with cross functional teams
  • Experience with global organizations with cross functional teams and exposure to different level of staff within organizations is preferred
