PayPal has two technology centers in India, in Chennai & Bangalore, which together house more than 1600 technologists and knowledge professionals. PayPal's Technology center in Chennai was set up in 2005. Chennai is the biggest technology center outside the headquarters in San Jose. Chennai forms critical part of PayPal's Technology group having delivering some of the large initiatives in last few years. PayPal's team in Chennai has been instrumental in building a great culture, which was instrumental in PayPal India being consistently recognized as one of India's 'Great Places to Work' consecutively for last 8 years.

As the Program Manager for Business Operations, you will work as part of the office of the General Manager, PayPal India Technology Centers. You will work closely with the Head of Business Operations to drive strategy for the Chennai Technology Center. By owing key elements of business operations, you will be responsible for driving strategic programs that are aimed at enhancing the value that the Chennai technology center adds to PayPal.

  • You will be responsible to bring in discipline and execution focus to the center priorities by setting up program management frameworks, governance and reporting structures, measurement KPIs, review cadence etc.
  • You will be responsible for working closely with Chennai Site Leaders and other key support functions (Facilities, IT, Outreach, HR, Communications, Finance etc.) in forming collaborative teams that help execute the center priorities
  • You will be responsible for operationalizing and sustaining processes that emerge out of Center priorities and other initiatives
  • You will work closely with counterparts from other centers for cross center collaboration in driving the PayPal's India center priorities
  • You will be responsible for risk management of the center by working closely with Enterprise Risk Management team in devising Business Continuity planning, Risk Mitigation processes etc.
  • You will be responsible for driving cross-functional collaboration at various levels within the center by putting rhythms/programs
  • You will be responsible to work with research/consultancy firms and bring in best processes from industry in managing the technology centers
  • You will be responsible for building business cases for various initiative/ awards/ external engagements that create impact and present them to respective stakeholders
  • You will be supporting Head of Business operations on numerous short-term initiatives by providing business acumen and programmatic approach

Experience

  • MBA from a Tier-I institute with 5+ years’ experience in at least one of the areas - Strategy, Operations, Program Management and Project management
  • Demonstrated execution excellence (2+ years) in driving large scale programs/ projects that have multiple dependencies
  • Strong working knowledge of external systems, PC based internet and software applications (Internet, Microsoft Office - Powerpoint, Word, Excel)
  • Working knowledge of analytics tools and applications (Excel, Tableau, SQL or similar)

Other aspects that make the candidature a definite plus

  • Engineering graduation from Tier I/II institutes
  • Working in Product organization or a related technology company
  • Working on enterprise level initiatives
  • Knowledge of the payments domain
