As a business unit based Product Portfolio Manager, you will be an innovative and entrepreneurial self-starter with a passion for our customers. Supporting the US business unit and stakeholders to support key strategic initiatives around the enhancement and development of PayPal Credit, this role will use numerous sources to gain data driven insight to inform and conceptualize product strategy and maximize profitability. You will establish strong working relationships at all levels at Synchrony and at PayPal, specifically with Finance, Credit Risk and Business Development.

  • Manage the Synchrony Financial relationship in regards to daily contract oversight and revenue optimization, with regular reviews of service level agreements and key performance indicators to ensure maximum benefits.
  • Manage detailed reporting and analysis relating to both revenue and costs to help make key business decisions, drive process improvements and ensure consistency and best practices are developed and maintained across the portfolio.
  • Develop strategy for new products, new go to market strategies, etc.; Work cross-functionally to gain buy-in, support, and assistance.
  • Oversee business review process for internal and partner stakeholders, presenting back findings and insights with data driven solutions to obstacles

Suggested Background and Functional Skill Experience:

  • BS/BA degree in related field required or equivalent professional work related experience.
  • 10+ years professional related work experience or Master’s degree and 8+ years.
  • Excellent business acumen within financial services industry; Experience within the Finance function preferred
  • Strong analytical skills - must be able to analyze complex data, draw meaningful/accurate conclusions, and make holistic recommendations.
  • Ability to approach problems in a quantitative and qualitative manner, partnering with internal and external teams to drive solutions
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainly; the ability to adapt nimbly and lead others through complex situations
  • Ability to acquire and retain knowledge quickly and accurately
  • Team player who can build strong working relationships, collaborate effectively across multiple stakeholder groups and levels of leadership, including multiple Product, Marketing, Operations, Risk, and Finance teams.  Strong verbal and written communication skills a must.
  • Ability to work independently and assume personal responsibility for achieving outcomes, often for multiple concurrent deliverables
  • Strong project management skills; prioritization, decisioning and task management skills with attention to detail and a focus on deliverables with time limitations
