The Payments Product & Engineering (PP&E) team is responsible for defining and managing the global payment platform and partnerships that enable the movement of funds into and out of the PayPal system. At this time, PP&E is seeking a payments professional within the Americas Market team. This role will be cross-functional in scope and will focus on developing innovative payment solutions and managing core payment product functionality in partnership with financial institutions, networks and processors in the U.S.

The individual will:

  • Program manage internal and external partner relationships to develop and execute payment solutions for PayPal.
  • Work with cross functional teams to develop product requirements related to our core product offerings, and work with the wider Payments Product team, marketing and engineering on implementing them.
  • Works closely with Senior Manager to manage a portfolio of relationships with networks, banks and service providers to ensure that payment solutions meet revenue and profit objectives; Creatively leverage partnerships to further PayPal’s strategic business objectives.
  • Partner with Compliance and Legal teams to meet partner compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with Senior Manager in partner assessment and integration of Financial Institution/Network partners.

Experience/Skills:

  • Energetic, creative and able to deliver innovative solutions  
  • Ability to cope with a fast-paced and changing environment, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to deliver results under pressure
  • Must handle multiple priorities with a strong attention to detail and should possess strong analytic and problem solving skills.
  • Experience in card issuance and/or acquiring  at a bank, network, processor or consultancy is a plus.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Project management experience focused on processes and efficiency improvement.
  • Proven record of successful client interaction and creative problem-solving skills
  • BA/BS from a four-year college or university.  MBA a plus. 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Payments industry background
  • 5 to 7 years of experience
  • Product management experience
  • Business development experience
