The Manager role requires great organizational skills, attention to detail, deep understanding of data management products, analytics, and technology. The ideal candidate is comfortable with enterprise data management and can complete complex tasks with little to no guidance. In this role, you are a manager who is selfless and invests in internal and external customer’s successful experience with PayPal data management capabilities. The candidate is completely comfortable aligning strategies and objectives across a diverse global organization

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and take ownership of the analysis, design and maintenance of data management and governance framework and processes.          
  • Establish repeatable processes and procedures for business data requirements/use case analysis, data testing and validation, data, and process flow documentation.
  • Collaborate with data users and stakeholders to identify, understand, articulate, and manage requirements for Critical Data Element (CDE) across PayPal, which includes:
    • Assigning stewards and accountability
    • Determining business usage and impacts
    • Data quality rules capture, monitoring and reporting.
    • System of Record (SOR) and Authoritative Data Source (ADS) identification
    • Maintain business glossary of Critical Data Elements within the enterprise repository.
  • Perform deep analysis on data related issues, applying subject matter expertise to formulate remediations.
  • Translate business objectives into data requirements and use cases for both business and technology related projects.
  • Facilitate data management and governance forums, working groups and council sessions.
  • Drive awareness and understanding of data management and governance processes, capabilities, and tools across the company.
  • Drive data lineage collection efforts across the company while providing analysis to enable   automation instrumentation of lineage collection and maintenance.
  • Define and validate the enterprise-wide data management and governance procedures and guidelines.
  • Actively drive communication and evangelize enterprise-wide data management and governance standards, training, and best practices
  • Work with business, technology, and product teams to ensure alignment of objectives, initiatives and projects with PayPal’s Data Management Framework, Strategy, Principles and Data Architecture

Functional / Technical Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of related experience in data management, governance and requirements analysis and management
  • Must have hands-on experience supporting strategies and implementation of data management and governance tools, processes, and standards.
  • Exceptional analysis and critical reasoning skills with a strong focus on execution
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively present to a broad stroke of audiences including senior leaders, management, business, and technical teams.
  • Ability to work well under pressure; manage tight deadlines and situations where conflicting priorities arise.
  • Strong relationship building skills, coupled with high business acumen.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
  • Familiarity with the trends and opportunities in the data management industry
  • An innate intellectual curiosity, and a willingness to build awareness of current payments industry and data management and governance best practices.

Education:

BS degree required in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Analysis, or related field.
