You will be working within the PayPal Credit team. This team is responsible for expanding our reach and deepening customer engagement through the delivery of new consumer lending products, features and online experiences.

You will report into the Consumer Lending Product Management team and will work in partnership with stakeholders from a wide range of cross-functional areas.

The Credit Solution Management team represents the voice of our customers (consumers, merchants and partners). It is responsible for identifying opportunities to improve our products, drive adoption of those products, and ultimately growing the business.

This particular role will be a critical part of the team that supports one of our largest merchant partners. As such, it requires excellent relationship management and influencing skills; and the ability to synthesize and articulate everything from business strategy to technical fundamentals.

Responsibilities:

  • Deeply understand our lending products, including the value propositions, end-to-end customer experiences, and inner workings of our systems
  • Become an expert on consumer lending product needs through direct customer & partner interactions, research, analytics and competitive benchmarking
  • Collect, distill, and communicate (document) the top product needs and opportunities – resulting in a prioritized set of product changes and a roadmap to match
  • Actively participate in product requirements and product validations, and serve as the key connection between product development teams and our customers/partners
  • Work with Product Owners and UI designers on solution development and user testing and representing the customer experience
  • Partner with Finance and Analytics to assess opportunities and track deliverables

The role requires strategic thinking, analytical and project management skills, and a collaborative mindset.  Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to drive complex development and deployment efforts are also key.


The Solution Manager will be expected to:

  • Quickly acquire an understanding of how our products work from a technical and functional perspective
  • Coordinate & solve problems across a variety of fronts including Technology, Operations, Finance, Legal, Marketing, etc.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis where required – requiring strong grasp of Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Lead and manage specific work streams within product in market launch

Ideally the individual will have:

  • Previous experience focused on consumer and/or business lending products (either at a bank, an issuer/acquirer or other organisation) with deep understanding of the product and ability to work in a product organization
  • Superb attention to detail and the ability to deliver results in a very fast-paced and dynamic environment with a high degree of personal accountability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with preference for candidates who have been in relationship management or client-facing roles
  • A highly structured work method with emphasis on great documentation, strong planning and project/program management skills, and ability to think several steps ahead
  • Demonstration of high energy/creativity, relentless customer-focus, and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Ability to manage stressful situations while juggling multiple challenges
  • A great sense of humor & fun to work with
