In 2018, iZettle became part of the PayPal family. iZettle is on a mission to help small businesses succeed in a world of giants. Tens of millions of small businesses worldwide are still being underserved by the traditional players. By giving small businesses the tools to get paid, sell smarter and grow, we’re empowering them to reach their full potential. Together with PayPal, we can reach 24 million merchants across the world with more of the affordable tools they need to thrive.

We now offer a seat at our table, a chance to impact the lives of many and democratize business tools for the ones who dare to challenge the now and embrace the future. iZettle is looking for a Product Manager to join our Capital team. The Capital area is responsible for the financial products which fuel our merchants’ growth and provide them with working capital to run their businesses. We’re building a fast growing lending business on top of the iZettle & PayPal platform and user base. Join us in putting an end to the ordinary way the world defines financial freedom.

Responsibilities

  • Execute on strategy & tactics: Deeply understand iZettle’s mission and strategies and quickly establish your own idea of what is important to contribute to making the right choices. Lead the creation of roadmaps and at all times understand and represent the team and your stakeholders - driving the dialog about prioritisation, creating clarity and enabling efficient decision making is key. You will have to use your influencer and gatekeeper skills to make sure we as a team do the right things.

  • Know your users: Understand our merchants and the internal iZettle and PayPal users; build use cases around those desires; and translate those use cases into product definitions and prioritised roadmaps.

  • Guide the backlog: Know the value of everything we do and astutely prioritize the backlog. Define, monitor and analyze metrics for existing and upcoming products and features - feed learnings back into the product development process. Adjust course based on qualitative and quantitative data. Help ensure the team’s sprints and backlogs are correctly managed and prioritised.

  • Communication: Clearly communicate the product plans, objectives, performance measures and progress against plans to all stakeholders – tailoring communication as appropriate to ensure relevance and impact.

  • Internal Stakeholder management: Work closely with multiple groups across the organization to understand their needs. We work closely with our PayPal counterparts in the US, so your work will to a high degree be to communicate and drive initiatives with stakeholders and teams within the whole of PayPal.

  • Feature lifecycles: Manage feature/product life cycle - ideation and discovery, MVP, growth, monetization, maintenance or retirement.

The skills that set you apart

  • What matters most is that you are sharp, hardworking and truly engaged in our business and team.

  • You “skate to where the puck is going” as hockey-legend Wayne Gretzky put it. In other words, you are a hustling self-starter – you see an opportunity and then you go for it.

  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills. You thrive in uncertain situations and relish understanding all nuances to unlock the simple solution to a complex problem.

  • Exceptional communication (spoken/written English) and presentation skills. People listen when you speak because you communicate clearly and in a meaningful way.

  • Self-awareness and confidence:  You should have the self-confidence to know when to stay resilient and champion a proposal. But, at the same time, you know that you are not always right and that things change. This job is an ongoing journey of dialog, discovery and learning with technical experts, business minds and many other stakeholders.

  • Experience working with product development of ideally lending, payments and/or fintech products. When we hear about what you’ve done (success or failure), we should think “Impressive!”

  • Cares about agile software processes, data-driven development (hypothesis based on data and user interviews), and experimentation.
