The Issuing, Tokenization, and Next Gen payments organization is responsible for product strategy and development of issuing and payment tokenization platforms and products in support PayPal’s vision. 
This organization represents the Center of Excellence at PayPal for all matters related to tokenization and issuance.

The Product Manager for Tokenization Product Champion team will play a key role in shaping the vision, execution and management of product platform operations, performance and growth. S/He will work with the various stakeholders (internal and external) to define, develop, and maintain product performance delighting our customers and partners.

Primary job Responsibilities

Moving money is one of PayPal's core capabilities. In 2016, PayPal grew active user base to 197 million (up 10%) and enabled more than $354 Billion (up 26%) in TPV, representing 6.1 Billion transactions (up 24%). With a unique value proposition to both consumers and merchants, we expect to continue to grow 15%+ YOY.

In-store commerce is a $28T+ market opportunity. A robust issuing and tokenization platform is essential for the universal acceptance of PayPal in store locations globally. Being able to tokenize the PayPal wallet via open loop rails represents the most scalable way to achieve global reach.

The Tokenization Product Champion will work with various internal partners globally supporting the roll out of tokenization solutions, NFC tap and pay, cards and emerging commerce platforms like bots, social commerce platforms. They champion best in class customer experiences in collaboration with operational, engineering and data teams to drive optimal product performance, development, testing and deployment. 

The Tokenization Product Champion responsibilities include

  • Collaborating with Product leadership to define the strategy and product roadmap
  • Working closely with engineering and architecture to define, build and launch amazing customer payment experiences across the platform
  • Partnering with Data Analytics and Product Managers to identify KPIs to focus on, running A/B tests to drive engagement and growth  
  • Working with internal teams like Live Ops, CS Ops, Social Media, Risk, Compliance, and others to understand and address failed customer interactions
  • Working with Analytics and Engineering teams to define, build out, and track KPIs to monitor and report out platform health and performance.


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business
  • Advanced degree in business management, marketing desirable
  • At least 2 years of technical product management in payment and/or banking
  • Deep knowledge of all aspects of payment processing including: card networks; card issuing, ISO8583 transaction processing, settlement and clearing, reconciliation, chargeback management.
  • Knowledge of EMV, Tokenization, Wallet, IoT is a plus
  • Good understanding of the Agile development process
  • Intuitive knowledge of technology and infrastructure, especially as it relates to financial services and payments is also a plus
