Our products build on PayPal’s value proposition of encouraging people to take control of their money and practice financial responsibility with credit and other financial services. The US Commercial Team is responsible for managing the portfolio performance for both the PayPal Credit and PayPal Credit Card products to ensure we serve our customers and meet our financial goals. Our team collaborates closely with internal and external partners in many cross functional areas: Marketing Analytics, Consumer/Merchant analytics, Consumer Marketing and Strategy, Finance, Risk, and Product teams. We're looking for a Portfolio Strategy Manager that is willing to go above and beyond to test, learn, and propel the future growth of the business. This person will generate insights and opportunities by partnering across the credit business to ideate, create business justification, and launch initiatives that promote responsible growth. The successful candidate will be able to synthesize and present information that is presented to Executive Leadership for launch approval. This candidate will also be responsible for becoming a subject matter expert on our acquisition and engagement channels to partner in optimizing our placements for customer conversion.

Key Responsibilities

•    Understand how to create business cases that are visually appealing and simple to both navigate and comprehend for end-users. 

•    Work closely across the matrix with teams like Finance, Marketing, Product, Engineering, vendors, and senior executives.

•    Assist in conversion optimization of key acquisition and usage channels/experiences for PayPal Credit, including sign-up, checkout, and the PayPal Credit application.

•    Help define segmentation strategies and targeting capabilities that offer the right product to the right customer in the right context.

•    Work with PayPal Credit Product, Analytics and Risk to generate and convert traffic through constant optimization of digital/mobile experiences for acquisition and engagement touchpoints.

•    Serve as the Commercial Team’s lead on interactions with vendors, product, modeling and finance teams

•    Ensure that key PayPal Credit KPIs are realistically set and attained.  Work with PayPal Credit Finance and Analytics to define, measure and communicate results to all relevant audiences. 

•    Take a leadership role in collecting and communicating all credit strategies that have an impact on the forecast.  Socialize these with finance partners to effectively incorporate them into in-year and long-term planning processes.

Basic Requirements:

•       10+ years experience in Financial Services and/or Payments companies preferred.

Be fluent in managing programs and initiatives at a P&L level to fully understand your program’s/strategies’ financial impact.

•       Experience developing and fully executing on small to large scale initiatives and strategies from ideation, due diligence, socialization, and through to in-market execution.

•       Must have good business judgment with demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically.

•       Comfort with ambiguity and constant change. Masterful ability to juggle and prioritize.   

•       Aptitude and willingness to roll-up the sleeves and get involved in the details.

•       Demonstrated experience, familiarity and ease with handling large data sets and crunching numbers.

•       Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other office software.

•       Proactive self-starter that anticipates needs and is highly accountable.

•       Experience and comfort working with senior executives.

•       Bachelor’s degree required.  MBA or equivalent experience preferred.
