PayPal is actively seeking to hire a People Operations Intern.
The internship is located in our PayPal Austin hub and provides a fantastic opportunity for a motivated self-starter to work on People Operations related projects in a fast-paced, professional environment.

  • You will look for opportunities to solve real employee pain points
  • You will look for ways to test solutions and ensure solutions are addressing employee needs
  • You will help define how employees interact with the programs and learn how they use them
  • You will help define and deliver the overall “story” that we’re sharing with stakeholders and customers to ensure support and adoption
  • You will help define metrics and KPIs that will measure the success of our solutions
  • Support the creation and management of a system and process roadmap
  • Create a system to manage the backlog and ensure proper prioritization of future enhancements

Hands On

  • Create surveys and analyze various sources of customer data
  • Develop supporting story materials (presentations and other communication materials) that help promote the work of the team
  • Identify ways to test and collect customer feedback
  • Identify and document business processes, requirements, stakeholders, and user groups for all areas of responsibility.
  • Support continual updates against documentation to ensure we have latest decisions and needs tracked
  • Participate in Agile Process and planning sessions
  • Support the product launch strategy.  Deliver and create end-user communications and training materials when necessary.
  • Define and operationalize the metrics to be used to measure success and support a reporting cadence to track progress based on these metrics.


Our ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented problem-solver with strong research, communication, organizational, and analytical skills. In addition, we are seeking:

  • Strong writing and editing abilities, with a high attention to detail.
  • A strong team orientation is critical based on the collaborative culture of the team.  

You have:

  • A current status as a Junior in a BA HR mgmt program, Human-Computer Interaction, Product Management or Design or 2nd year MBA or Human-Computer Interaction
  • An energetic, self-starter and resourceful problem solver approach that can get things moving and keeps them on track. High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple ongoing activities.
  • An understanding and appetite to learn about the opportunities and challenges in creating a product mindset in an HR organization.
  • Aptitude to use data and metrics as a means to advise partners and make recommendations 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, a team-oriented approach, and a desire to learn 
  • Candidate should be able to work 40 hours minimum per week
