Senior Manager, In-store

PayPal is at the forefront of the digital payments revolution, processing 1.8B transactions globally and providing people with better ways to connect to their money and to each other. With our 210 million active customer accounts, we have created an open and secure payments ecosystem that people and businesses choose to securely transact with each other online, in stores and in apps.

This newly created role will be the primarily responsible for taking PayPal’s in-store product set to market in Australia. This includes interpreting the business vision and executing the strategy for our in-store products and being primarily responsible for enabling the go to market plan for Australia.

This individual will work closely with the regional consumer and merchant marketing teams and partner with the global product, engineering and project teams to successfully develop and deploy these products, including the early identification of any barriers to delivering on commitments and contingency planning.

Key responsibilities:

  • Own the go to market execution for PayPal’s in-store product set in Australia
  • Develop financial models and business cases to drive the growth of our in-store products
  • Drive cross-functional project teams internally and externally to successfully deliver against “go to market” business plans
  • Manage relationships with key external stakeholders within the payments ecosystem
  • Monitor and shape progress against KPIs and seek clarification and decisions when issues arise

Job requirements:

  • Deep understanding of the payments landscape in Australia, including an understanding of mobile payment technologies and processes, across merchant, network and the commercial aspects of card issuing
  • Ability to build consumer value propositions
  • Sound business judgment, market understanding, problem solving, and fact-based analysis to identify, prioritize, structure, and solve complex business problems
  • Ability to develop a sound go to market plan with commitments and dependencies
  • Strong relationship builder
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a results-oriented, global environment
  • Be creative, autonomous, comfortable operating with a lean team, and thrive in the face of ambiguity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Approach problems with rigorous quantitative and strategic analysis

Work experience:

  • Experience working within the payments industry – particularly in the card issuance space
  • Direct experience working with product and marketing teams on successfully launching new products to market
  • Proven track record of delivery and driving consumer / revenue growth
  • Candidates should have 5+ years experience with at least 3 years experience working in the payments industry
  • Excellent academic background
