This position will be responsible for looking after PayPal's partnerships in Mexico and Strategic Initiatives in LatAm. We are seeking a commercially driven professional with fanatical focus on the customer and expertise in payments both online and offline. This position will require some experience working directly with the payments industry particularly with Financial Institutions. The Payments Partnership Manager, will be responsible for the development and maintenance of our Financial Partnerships in Mexico and leading strategic initiatives for MX and BR. Responsibilities will include managing relationships and contracts with our financial institutions, along aside, to be responsible for building out local partnerships with these institutions to drive new business, acquire new customers and drive activity.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of partnerships in Mexico and Hispanic markets being the primary point of contact for the relationship.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with networks, financial institutions and payment schemes to drive consumer acquisition and activity. 
  • Negotiate contracts with local service providers and payments partners.
  • Partner with local and global teams to support the growth and development of Financial Partnerships
  • Manage existing Financial Partnerships following up closely the performance
  • Manages the partner contracts and business relationship going forward
  • End to end management on Regional Strategic Initiatives (MX & BR)
  • Cross Functional activities (legal, operations, technology, finance, commercial, etc)
  • Continuous Business Development

Skills:

  • Experience working with payments industry participants and relationships with processors, schemes and financial institutions.
  • Understanding of payment economics and payments history.
  • Ability to work in an ambiguous and cross functional environment with proven track record of delivering projects.
  • Strong negotiation and relationships management skills.
  • Great influencer - make positive and strong personal impressions on others in order to effect the development of the business by influencing or negotiating.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in business development and commercial areas of the Payment Services industry (preferably within Financial Ecosystem)
  • Graduate in:
    • Industrial / Mechanical Engineering
    • Business Administration / Finance
  • Passionate about

    • Payments
  • Strong analytical background & proven project management experience
  • Ambitious, entrepreneurial & self-driven personality
  • Flexibility to work in dynamic, task & result driven environment
  • Both oral and written communication skills
  • Languages:
    • Fluent English (mandatory), Portuguese is a plus.
