The Payments Product & Engineering (PPE) organization is responsible for designing and managing the payment mechanisms and partnerships that enable the movement of funds into and out of the PayPal system. At this time, the Payment Platform Analytics and Finance team is seeking a suitable candidate who will lead efforts to monitor the functional, operational and technical performance of our payment platforms. He/she will manage and drive payment platform health monitoring, Initiative tracking from Analytics and Financial prospective. The role will be extremely collaborative and require interaction with several internal PayPal teams, including product development, product management, business operations, risk, data infrastructure, and external partners.

 Responsibilities include:
•    Identify key business levers, establish cause & effect, perform analyses, and communicate key findings to various stakeholders to facilitate data driven decision-making 
•    Discover new opportunities to grow and optimize the Payments business through analytics, financial modeling, and business case development Collaborate with product, market and finance teams to help operationalize and quantify the business strategies that will drive profitability and margin expansion for the PayPal brand 
•     Identify key metrics and build exec-facing dashboards to track progress of the business and its highest priority initiatives. Driving strong recommendations to support and deliver strong business results Take a hands-on approach to obtain the right business context, understand the data schema, and develop flawless solutions to reduce product/platform deficiencies. 
•    Analyzing complex system behavior from multiple sources, performance, and application monitoring data. 
•    Analyze channel performance, design and execute experiments, research, financial models and other mechanisms to identify, evaluate and prioritize opportunities
•     Works to improve the day-to-day activities of the analytics team with technology and automation 
•    Perform highly analytical deep-dives to identify root cause and opportunities
•    Work with Product managers to establish thresholds for new and existing key performance indicators (KPIs), communicate findings/anomalies to payment platform
 Job Requirements
 Successful candidates will possess exceptional business judgment, strong analytic skills, and superb communication skills. They must have a passion for living in the data and be comfortable rolling up their sleeves to get into the details of the analysis, as well as being able to synthesize and provide high-level thought leadership.
•    Proven track record of utilizing a data-driven approach to solve ambiguous business problems and delivering business and operational impact.
•    Requires strong technical and analytical skills to translate complex transactional data into valuable and insightful information.
•    Significant experience with statistical packages (SAS or R or Python), SQL and reporting tools (Tableau) is required.
•    Bachelor’s/Master’s degree preferably in a quantitative field (engineering/accounting/statistics).
•    Strategic thinking and mental flexibility to be able to understand both the details of the problem, as well as, the big picture/business solution.
•    Prefers data-driven decisions and highly results-oriented
•    Experience with experimentation and A/B testing
