A typical day for the Partnerships & Marketplaces Intern will include:

The role of the Partnerships & Marketplaces Intern will be to support the Partnerships & Marketplaces team with all existing and new partners. You will be heavily involved in managing our Salesforce CRM, financial and data analysis using tools such as Excel and PIE and helping the team drive revenue through frontbook and backbook partners. You will have the freedom to initiate and manage your own projects to help the business and the ability to work cross-functionally with other teams such as Sales, Sales Engineering, Marketing, SMB and more.

What does Success Look Like?

You will be expected to work with the Partnerships & Marketplaces team and across other PayPal departments to achieve targets through a combination of:

  • Execute on a strategy as to how we can better leverage Partnerships to gain greater market share and understand the true size of the opportunities
  • Support the team in on-boarding new Marketplaces by identifying and qualifying prospects
  • Represent the team to internal and external stakeholders in order to drive results
  • Provide reporting on PayPal’s progress in this sector/channel

In addition you will be expected to:

  • Be very financially numerate- be able to understand and interpret data, to be able to make decisions based on data and solid business case rationale but also to be able to draw hypothesis, make decisions and drive action where limited data may be available
  • To be able to deconstruct and solve problems, to investigate drivers and figure out ‘why’ things happen
  • Have a keen interest in payments and fintech and an understanding of the main competitive threats

About You:

  • You will be able to think creatively, communicate efficiently internally and externally; you will have a strong desire to succeed, and to continually develop their personal and professional skills
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong analytical abilities
  • An interest in business development and sales

You Must Also Have:

  • Have a degree in a business / commercial related subject with expected grade at least a 2:1
  • Be available for a 12 months internship starting June – July 2018
