This role is responsible for taking a leadership role in servicing and growing the relationships of our most important partner customers with a special emphasis on Marketplaces and their underlying sellers. This role will focus on global partners who are domiciled in the US but also have significant presence in EMEA. Specifically, this role will focus on our most strategic marketplaces and will flex as needed across the entire Partner organization including partner sales, partner development and eBay. It will focus in all areas that are important to marketplaces and their sellers including but not limited to growth, shipping, billing, check-out, product, marketing, credit, risk and escalations. It is very important that the person in this role is able to build relationships with senior level persons in our customer’s organizations. Responsibilities include owning the overall relationship and customer success, driving towards revenue targets, developing and managing the strategic relationship, ensuring a high level of service and managing interactions with key internal partners.

Job Description

  • Global representative and voice for our key strategic partners and their sellers with internal stakeholders
  • SME expert on the individual sellers within our strategic partners ecosystems
  • Identify and drive growth opportunities within partner portfolio through new product integration/best practices, international expansion, marketing penetration or promotions or other strategic priorities.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for PayPal to penetrate new markets or merchants with or through a partner, bringing in or responding to sales initiative when appropriate
  • Responsible for overall delivery and management of the service experience for all areas of our partners including alignment on a prioritized roadmap, co-marketing activities, coordination with PayPal Credit and PayPal risk teams, as well as various escalations as they occur.
  • Act as the voice of the customer: learning partners’ pain points and wish list; understanding their priorities and urgency, ensuring that this is shared with the adjacent PayPal business units
  • First line of defense for all new requests or escalations from our partners
  • Close coordination with product, technology, analytics, operations, marketing, credit, risk and professional services teams to ensure that we are meeting our commitments to eBay and other strategic merchants on various initiatives
  • Operationalize all critical contracts associated with our strategic partners
  • Ability to effectively communicate with executives as well as all other internal and external stakeholders, regardless of role or level
  • Facilitate strategy meetings between senior management teams as appropriate

Ideal candidate

  • 10+ years’ experience in relationship management, online retail, online payments or marketplace management
  • B.S. degree required.  Master’s degree desired.
  • Likes working on highly complex strategic projects

Key responsibilities will include providing dedicated relationship management support to eBay and other key strategic accounts globally, serving as the primary points of contact for all day to day business operations functions and new requests coming out of the EMEA arms of the global partners assigned to this group. 

This role will work closely with internal teams at PayPal including product, technology, analytics, operations, finance, marketing, credit, risk and legal.  The right person will possess superb communication and relationship building skills as well as have (or learn) some level of subject matter expertise in the above mentioned areas.
