Position Description The Paid Search Marketing Manager will own our in-house Paid Search program across both Brand and Non-Brand. The role will report to the Head of Channel Marketing. This person is accountable for the planning, executing, optimizing and results that come from owning this channel across our portfolio of lending products. What will make you successful in this role? The impactful owner of this channel possesses impeccable written and verbal communications skills, speaking to the results and conveying the stories behind the wins and losses. Further, this person must be organized, paying attention to the most minute of details as levers are pulled and buttons are pushed in the channel-management process. Further, this person must be an analytical thinker, relying on the numbers to steer the ship through both creative and media optimizations

Key Responsibilities:

  • Further evolve acquisitions-based Paid Search program. Own the strategies that produce scaled and profitable results across brand and non-brand Paid Search.
  • Own the end-to-end roadmaps for each channel.  This is inclusive of tactical and creative agendas, budget justification and forecasted results.
  • Develop the creative testing matrix.  This includes testing into new ad: headlines, copy and CTA’s, as well as landing pages and customer paths to acquisitions; and working together with Analytics to ensure all tests are designed to reach statistical significance with unquestionable results.
  • Expertly navigate Google Ads.   Build, optimize and maintain all campaigns and experiments across both brand and non-brand keyword sets and within desktop and mobile, flawlessly managing to CPC’s and associated positions on the SERP, resulting in CPA’s that box to the forecast.
  • Own the strategy behind advanced Google Paid Search ad features.  Build a robust evergreen testing agenda  providing learnings against ad extensions (beyond sitelinks), Google Customer Match, retargeting, etc., always remaining on the cutting edge of industry insights including beta test participation in Paid Search.
  • Own the metrics and KPI’s. Work with Analytics to define what is measured along the acquisitions waterfall, from impression to back-end conversion, for every campaign you own, using this arsenal of data to both optimize performance and present the campaign performance story, the “so what”, to the broader team.
  • Vendor management.  Own the relationship with our Google and Bing representatives, collaborating with them to brainstorm, strategize and optimize across campaigns.

Qualifications & background:

  • Undergraduate degree required, concentration in marketing preferred
  • 5+ years managing acquisitions-based/direct-response Paid Search programs for financial institutions, insurance providers and/or established retailers
  • 3+ years managing outside agencies and vendors
  • Annual budget accountability exceeding $1MM

  • Proven to be the source for industry insights among peers and leadership team
  • Outrageous attention to detail
