Node.js developer - PayPal Credit

PayPal is looking for an experienced software engineer to help us design and build PayPal products for the Credit globally strategic market places. As a member of our product development team you will play an important role in developing Node applications for PayPal customers to apply for and use PayPal Credit.

Our organization values effective team-work and is very nurturing of new hires that are hard workers; you will be assisted in your ramp-up by the more senior members of the group, asking for help and assistance when needed and also using your own ability to investigate the PayPal systems. Being part of this team will provide you an opportunity to learn how many other parts of PayPal work as we frequently need to work with other teams.

Your experience in software engineering and product development will be valued at PayPal. PayPal is undergoing an exciting period of growth in the strategically important area of PayPal Credit.

Required Skills:

  • At least 3 years professional experience
  • Programming experience in JavaScript, specifically Node.js

•         Experience creating user interfaces from scratch with a responsive design

  • Proficiency in cross-browser and backward compatibility issues
  • Analytical thinker, able to take a complex problem and simplify   
  • Comfortable in the Linux operating system, able to develop on a Mac
  • Able to investigate and evaluate new technologies and open source
  • Able to work effectively in a team
  • Some experience in continuous integration and designing for software testability
  • Self-starter and team player
  • Strong written, verbal and leadership skills, able to influence team members
  • Familiar with UI design, a good sense of the tradeoffs between user value and implementation cost
  • The following skills will work in your favor:
    • Experience with LESS or SASS
    • Experience with Dust.js or other templating engines
    • Experience with Grunt or other build/packaging systems
    • Familiarity with Angular, React, or other front-end MVCs
    • Familiarity with Agile and Rally
    • Familiarity with database design
    • Jenkins exposure
    • Git experience
    • Automated testing experience
    • Any past experience in Java development
    • Experience in Express and REST APIs
