As a MTS 2 in PayPal’s Developer Experience organization, you will be lead level developer and will have an impact in designing solutions for PayPal’s developers and PayPal products all around the world. You will have to understand the needs of our developers, process, identify opportunities and improve our eco system to drive efficiency across entire organization from code to release.

As a MTS 2 in PayPal’s Developer Experience organization, you will be lead level developer and will have an impact in designing solutions for PayPal’s developers and PayPal products all around the world. You will have to understand the needs of our developers, process, identify opportunities and improve our eco system to drive efficiency across entire organization from code to release.

  • In this lead role in Build Engineering team of DPX you will utilize your past development and design experience and influence the architecture of our Build Platform. You will work in following cloud technologies such as Docker, Mesos , Aurora, Hadoop/Storm, developer tools such as Jenkins and proprietary technologies to build the next generation of PayPal Development pipeline and build systems.
  • You will be a technical leader in building solutions that can help scale the infrastructure and reduce operational costs.
  • You will help optimizing machine learning algorithms that categorize build errors and provide remedy to developers.  
  • You will be working with a team of strong engineers who enable the rest of development community to quickly and reliably build and validate.
  • You will use your knowledge to influence better software design, promote proper engineering practice, bug prevention strategies, testability, accessibility, and other advanced quality concepts across products. 
  • You will be building frameworks, tools and solutions for the rest of PayPal developer community.
  • Work directly with Architecture, Product Managers, Program Managers and stakeholders from clients that integrates with the frameworks and tools

Skills needed

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in designing and developing scalable web services and platforms.
  • Experience in providing technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams.
  • Strong experience in some of the following technologies is highly desirable: Jenkins, Docker, Mesos, Aurora, Kubernetes, Hadoop/Storm/Spark, Java, Python, Go, Node.js, MongoDB, Kafka, Machine Learning and scripting
  • Knowledge in DevOps lifecycle is a must.
  • Working experience in building platform solutions is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Go and GDS a huge plus
  • Knowledge and experience in cloud technologies and Google Cloud a huge plus
  • Prior experience in building infrastructure for instrumenting, reporting, monitoring and alerting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.
  • BS or MS in computer science or equivalent
