PayPal's Consumer Engineering team is looking for a talented full-stack JavaScript engineer to work on the next generation of the Consumer web site. We want people who thrive on satisfying the customer and have a passion for creating exceptional user experiences. As a member on our team, you will work directly with our Product Owners and Designers to create outstanding solutions and deliver incredible products.

We made a major shift to a new technology stack including NodeJS on the server, embodied in our open source offering Kraken JS, and modern open source stacks on the frontend such as React/Redux.  As a result, we now have strong focus directly on the user web experiences and the flexibility of iteratively delivering capabilities.  If you are the kind of engineer who is passionate about bringing great experiences to life, being a craftsman in engineering and love working in a collaborative environment, then we want to talk to you.


Responsibilities

  • Participate in the full development life cycle, including design, coding, testing and production release. 
  • Create web applications following best practices of accessibility, internationalization, TDD.
  • Lead code reviews to drive teams to the highest standards for NodeJS apps & web apps.
  • Partner closely with design & product to craft great product experiences.
  • Be a crafts(wo)man and encourage code craftsmanship across team.
  • Deliver code in an agile team environment.
  • Guide team to follow clean code principles.
  • Drive innovation through rapid prototyping and iterative development.

Required Skills


  • Passionate about developing amazing user experiences.
  • 6+ years’ experience with web application development including Node.js applications on top of RESTful APIs.
  • Expert knowledge of popular JS frameworks and libraries (React, Redux, Angular, Ember, Underscore, etc.).
  • Deep experience with web frontend technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, Webpack, LESS, Bootstrap.
  • Real world experience with cross-browser, cross-platform, Multi device, Mobile Web and design constraints of the web.
  • Expert in utilizing software design patterns, problem solving and troubleshooting.
