PayPal is seeking accomplished and passionate Software Engineers to join our existing team in San Jose CA, contributing to the exciting future of software products/technologies that fall under our mobile and particularly to the PayPal Here SDK product family. The successful candidate will work closely and collaboratively with the entire product development team during all phases software development and lifecycle. We’re seeking individuals with an equal flair for creative problem solving, familiarity with full stack development, agile methodologies, test automation and preferably foosball skills. PayPal Here is one of the fastest evolving and high visibility applications of PayPal product line; and we’re hoping to expanding our team with superstars.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Write and test SDK application code on Android platform following best practices of accessibility, internationalization and interaction
  • Perform code reviews to drive teams to the highest standards on Android & JS platforms
  • Partner closely with design and product stakeholders
  • Work with tooling and platform teams to provide innovation and solutions for analytics, experimentation and quality
  • Deliver code in an Agile team environment
  • Follow and be a strong advocate for clean code principles
  • Drive innovation through rapid prototyping and iterative development

Qualifications

  • 3+ years JavaScript application design and testing experience. Solid knowledge of cross platform application frameworks.
  • 2+ years of experience in building Android APP. Knowledge on Kotlin and prior experience is a plus.
  • We are looking for someone with strong JS expertise since the SDK is built on a cross platform framework written on JS. 
  • Knowledge & prior experience on Babel, eslint, Gulp, unit test framework likes mocha & tape is a must
  • Knowledge and prior experience on firebase, Jenkins, Git, CI platform is mandatory. 
  • Prior experience & knowledge building applications on top of RESTful APIs is a Plus. 
  • Solid knowledge of algorithms, data structures and design patterns.
  • Experience with building application tracking, analytics & monitoring. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience required
  • B.S. or equivalent degree in Computer Science is desired
