Position primary role will be to drive incremental sales, revenue and small business merchant activation for PayPal Mexico based on joint plans and campaigns with the sales teams, enabling sales from strategy development to execution relying on research, online tools and comprehensive content, nurturing in consequence PayPal Mexico business and consumer goals.

Main responsibilities for the position (listed but not limited to) are as follows:


  • Be the interlocutor between sales and marketing in order to construct strategies for campaign development and demand generation, those strategies are addressed for incremental sales impact. 
  • Enable sales with marketing resources and materials to enhance PayPal relationships with key partners (such as Large enterprises or small businesses) such as comprehensive data related to consumer transaction behavior vs key merchants and/or verticals, develop product solutions relevant information to merchants that are driving demand from online buyers and present it to the merchant.
  • Research on current sales trends, the market behavior and elaborate competitive intelligence reports and analyses that will be useful for key merchants and customers for new businesses and marketing opportunities.
  • Deep dive into analytics dashboards and results to build and optimize merchant performance based on user transactional – segmented data in order to increase PayPal´s share of checkout.
  • Review campaign reports and analytics, summarizing results effectively to managers both locally and globally.
  • Prepare and present insight reports addressable for new business opportunities in the market based on internal and external research.
  • Manage marketing budget and financials to drive ROI and financial compliance.
  • Ensure all activities are compliant with legal & data protection requirements.
  • Hands on managing end to end responsibility from the strategy creation to project management (operations and implementation).
  • Develop and deliver effective internal briefs to cross-disciplinary agencies, ensuring plans leverage the brand and value proposition, and are tied to business objectives.
  • Orchestrate end-to-end strategy and execution of B2B / Trade Marketing Programs aimed to accelerate hunting and farming sales efforts in scale. E.g: Relationship Program for PYME accounts, e-commerce platforms, Incentive Programs, B2B Thought Leadership Program and Inbound Content Marketing Program.
  • Work with the regional marketing owners’ teams to best leverage content and campaigns and ensure consistent end-to-end customer experience.
  • Deliver campaigns results aligned with projects KPIs.
  • Ensure we have a consistent approach towards how we are tracking and reporting initiatives results of our merchant marketing programs, acting as an ambassador with key stakeholders in the company.

Support online channel management for merchants:

  • Support sales to deliver those campaigns that are related to increase revenue and/or those which are potential campaigns for meaningful merchant activation related to the online channel and partner programs this imply digital paid, earned and owned media.
  • Develop customer facing communication and content assets articulating and providing supporting evidence of relevant and differentiated value props: map commercial requirements, brief agency, provide feedback, review content and get approval for several Sales Collateral and merchant facing new products introduction assets.
  • Support the development of videos how to, testimonials, etc.
  • Design and implement go-to-market plans for merchant facing new products introductions including: launch and communication plan, website update and content assets creation.
  • Work with the brand and creative services agencies and partners to give input on positioning, messaging and communication campaigns.

The ideal candidate must comprehend:

  • At least 7 years of Marketing experience with digital at the core.
  • At least 4 years proven experience in managerial skills (managing people – teams - agencies).
  • Experience in continuous improvement of performance marketing campaigns to drive ongoing positive results in key consumers KPIs to drive ROI.
  • Customer related experience in order to treat customers since the position will be exposed to clients and customers.
  • Proven experience on digital marketing acquisition / engagement digital campaigns (SEM, display, retargeting, SMM, CRM).
  • Be able to put the customer in the center of all decisions and be “the voice of the customer” in the company.
  • Curiosity to learn while having the confidence to draw from and apply best practices from prior experience.
  • Passion for PayPal, digital and e-commerce industry.
  • Have a strong bias for action.
  • A four year college degree, Master Degree a plus.
  • Ensure delivering best in class consumer experience across all touch points.
  • Manage, coach and develop the team, and provide cross-functional leadership where appropriate.
  • Play a key leadership role in the broader LATAM Marketing team, the MX Marketing / Sales teams and top management stakeholders.
  • Ensure analysis on campaigns performance & ROI and use findings in the development of future activity based on results.
  • Strong track record of delivering impactful marketing programs and experience in managing large integrated campaigns with merchants and consumers incl. ATL advertising, digital marketing, experiential & social.

Knowledge and skills:

  • Complete awareness of competing products in the market.
  • A self-starter, adaptable work-style, ability to get results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Several years at consumer marketing experience with strong expertise and deep knowledge of digital marketing and communications, knowhow and best practices.
  • Must be able to handle multiple activities-projects simultaneously.
  • Results oriented, with a strong focus for execution and commitment to meet/exceed targets.
  • Well rounded experience between strategy development and project management skills.
  • Successful track of record in working cross functionally and building effective work relationships.
  • Highly analytical with capability to connect the dots between multiple data sources while thrive to execute with all info available.
  • Driven by an “iteration” spirit in order to compile, learn and optimize from on-going campaigns towards the established goals in a continuous basis. 
  • Self-starter with plenty of initiative and drive.
  • Ability to manage own time and workload.
  • Composed, professional & articulate – at ease managing senior discussions with clients
  • Strong commercial / analytical skills, including an ability to partner closely with analytics teams to define, measure and communicate performance against key KPIs.
  • High level proficiency in online and social media.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Highly curious in order to develop new strategies to fulfill business needs.
