The Marketing Manager, Consumer Acquisition, will be responsible for step changing the way we acquire, activate and drive adoption of Consumers through our merchant network across 190+ International Markets. In a nutshell, harness the power of PayPal’s two-sided network to further PayPal’s market share across the International markets. You will partner with Sales, Creative and Growth teams to develop creative, multi-channel acquisition marketing plans for new merchant partnerships and drive growth in activations and reactivations through our top global and local merchants. PayPal’s future market share growth will come from our International merchant network– This role presents a unique opportunity to shape a new role and shape the future trajectory of the PayPal.

Key Areas of Responsibilities

  • Drive the development of the Strategic Marketing Plan for the consumer acquisition across PayPal’s International Markets
  • Drive an insight led, customer first approach to the development of Consumer acquisition strategies across owned, earned and paid channels in collaboration with the country marketing teams
  • Deliver outstanding work that delights, engages and wins the hearts and minds of customers while delivering on commercial targets
  • Support the Sales team to deliver on sales targets through Trade Marketing, Merchant Partnerships and Thought Leadership to inspire and engage prospective customers
  • Effectively build codependent partnerships with the country marketing team
  • Play a thought leadership role on the International Marketing Team in driving marketing best practice and executional excellence with the regional and global marketing communities
  • Responsible for the delivery of end to end marketing program with key strategic partners which fit the following criteria: will be a merchant flywheel for consumer acquisition or engagement and/or have significant revenue potential
  • Owns and measured on new acquisition targets for consumers acquired through merchants including Activations and reactivations through global and local merchants; Activations through new enterprise merchants and number of activations/merchants.
  • Forecast accuracy and delivery of targets. Challenges the analytics and ROI model looking beyond the transaction only to generate a positive return for this work
  • Work to continuously improve strategy, tactics and programs by measuring performance, and adjusting marketing levers as necessary
  • Lead agencies and internal creative partners to implement strategically sound programs and initiatives in a timely manner
  • Responsible for planning and budgetary control across all marketing programs
  • Your key partners in marketing include Sales, Partnership Marketing, B2B Marketing , Creative and Growth Labs

Experience and Skills (the what)

  • Minimum  7+ years of which at least 3+ years similar experience in a matrix organizations.
  • Experience in partnership marketing/ co-marketing and ability to liaise with strategic partners
  • Experience in both country and regional marketing  roles (ideally where a 2 sided network exists)
  • Proven ability to deliver a step changes in business performance through execution
  • Experience working with Data Sciences and models
  • Experience of acquisition via key merchants and partners and delivering messaging to a base at scale
  • Budget Management experience
  • Reading out result and business accountability to ROIs
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently and drive company initiatives
  • Experience in working in a global matrixed environment
  • Can work in a fast paced, dynamic environment, high change agility
  • Motivated by enabling others’ success and experience in business partnering
