Part of the Integrated Marketing team, the Brand Moments team is accountable for defining the strategy and plan for key brand moments of PayPal’s Core Markets (US, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Australia), and working closely with creative agencies and core local marketing partners to drive execution of that strategy and plan. We are a small team working across markets and timezones with the aspiration to deliver world class brand marketing that inspires consumers to add PayPal to their consideration set and ultimately drive conversion through strong partnerships with marketing teams through the funnel. Our value proposition to our consumers and our merchant partners extends far beyond that of a payments provider. The Senior Marketing Manager role will be at the center of how we deliver on brand moments across Core Markets, and will be a strong partner for marketing teams through the funnel. 

The ideal candidate is a self starter who is not afraid to think outside the box, has a strong understanding of social and media platforms, and someone that knows how to amplify brands through inspiring & engaging marketing ideas with a top eye for creative & really solid analytical chops. You will be well versed in managing cross-functional teams and be able to manage feedback, as well as push back when required. The right person for this role will understand the realm of social commerce and have the ability to leverage all parts of the marketing mix to engage our audience. You will root yourself as a customer champion, as well as act as a US market expert – you are an avid PayPal customer, with a strong understanding of our suite of product offerings and our app.

Key Areas of Responsibilities

  • Translate brand marketing strategy and plans into content that differentiates the brand, creates energy and affection for PayPal and positions PayPal as a champion of consumer financial health and a trusted and safe way to engage in digital financial solutions
  • Manage creative agencies from briefing, providing strong creative guidance and influencing stakeholder buy-in on concepts and manage production with agency
  • Develop playbooks and toolkits, for distribution across core markets to increase efficiency and effectiveness
  • Strong partnership with local marketers, performance teams, and segment teams to execute on our strategy
  • Work closely with analytics team to set up a testing agenda for measuring campaign impact at a brand level and through the funnel, plus creative diagnostic testing to allow optimizations throughout campaigns, and leading end of campaign reporting back to the PayPal business
  • Partner with finance team to manage budget spend to target for brand moments team
  • Keep abreast of marketing industry best practice in regards to channels and creative, and share inspiration with the team
  • Build a good relationship with and keep in regular contact with PayPal International team to share learnings and best practice
  • Become an expert on PayPal products in the US, and be able to act as a US champion when it comes to local market insights and moments.

Experience and Skills (the what)

  • 6-8+ years marketing experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Equally strong creative eye/analytical thinker, proven discipline in multi-channel marketing to drive brand metrics and measure impact through the funnel
  • Strong understanding of social and media channel best practices
  • Branding, value proposition and messaging experience
  • Campaign development and production experience, including agency management
  • Creative Experience in dissecting and understanding insights and research that drive customer behaviors and outcomes
  • Ability to operate and thrive in an agile environment.
  • Results-driven. Exceptional communicator and influencer.
  • Strong budget management
  • Understanding of the financial services, financial tech and payments industry/eco-sytem a plus.
