Marketing Intern (Brand/Media and Strategic Parternships) - M/F

A typical day for the Marketing Intern will include:

  • Updating a presentation on the performance and learning of one of our latest paid media campaigns
  • Participating in a status call with the customer support in which marketing informs about the new campaigns coming up
  • Writing an analysis briefing for our internal Analytics team
  • Reviewing a campaign reporting and summarizing the key information and recommendations for optimization
  • Reviewing campaign creative drafts and preparing aggregated feedback with input from internal stakeholders (marketing, legal, PR & communications)

What does Success Look Like?  

By supporting the Brand & Media as well as our Strategic Co-Marketing team you help drive the visibility and usage of PayPal beyond the owned channel network. The role will support the team in…

  • Developing and executing paid marketing multi-channel campaigns that drive acquisition and engagement
  • Coordination of projects with agencies and other vendors
  • Preparing presentations and reports for the marketing team as well as other stakeholders in the organization
  • Taking ownership of multi-channel campaigns including display, paid search (SEA), social media advertising, mobile, etc.
  • Supporting and partially leading the set up and management of campaigns with selected merchants to drive acquisition and engagement of PayPal at checkout. 
  • Management of our regular Co-Marketing-Newsletter, the respective merchant communication as well as the negotiation of special co-marketing deals for the PayPal Shopping Hub
  • Participating in regular status meetings and calls with agencies, merchant partners or internal teams
  • Constantly analyzing the main campaign and business metrics / KPIs that are being used to determine the success of our marketing initiatives
  • Optimizing campaigns in order to improve marketing performance

About You  

  • Finishing Student or recently graduated in a business or business-related course
  • Fluency in German is a must, and English
  • Creative, out of the box thinker, digitally affluent
  • Very proficient in PowerPoint & Excel
  • Strong interest in marketing
  • Highly motivated with strong academic performance.
  • Quick learner with excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Available for 6+ months

You Might Also Have  

  • Exhibit very good understanding of general marketing principles
  • Prior hands-on marketing experience in form of project work or internship in marketing consulting, tech or ecommerce brands, and/or payments products/ financial services company is a strong plus.
  • Have an understanding of PayPal´s value propositions to consumers
  • Not shy to interact with our agencies or our merchant partners in a professional way
