Marketing Campaign Analyst

The Marketing Campaign Analyst will be responsible for the execution, tracking, analysis, and reporting of all PayPal Credit marketing campaigns and serve as the subject matter expert in marketing analytics. Areas of emphasis will include consumer marketing programs, including email, web, onsite, and digital channels. Responsibilities will include collaborating with consumer marketing team to create new strategies across customer life-cycle, applying marketing modeling, program P&L creation, opportunity sizing, and ad hoc analysis surrounding PayPal Credit marketing operations. Ultimately, as an analytics group, we focus on solving problems, uncovering trends and insights, and identifying opportunities to add value for PayPal’s customers, merchants, and stakeholders


  • Execute, track, and analyze PayPal Credit marketing campaigns. Serve as the single point of resolution for internal customer requests for PPC marketing campaign related data.
  • Design campaign tests, perform test control analysis and provide recommendations based on test results. Perform deep dive analytics including Cohort analysis, Pre vs Post analysis, segmentation exercises, financial projections and ad-hoc analysis that would provide PayPal Credit insights to the business.
  • Leverage customer information to develop campaign models and perform segmentation analyses for various marketing channels to optimize campaign effectiveness and return on investment
  • Translate business questions and problems into actionable insights via data extraction and analysis, requiring deep understanding of PayPal Credit products
  • Develop and maintain cross functional proficiency within selected Credit, PayPal including Marketing, Risk, Operations, Customer Service, and other lines of business
  • Manage the requirements and business ownership for building Reporting and BI Solutions in tools including Tableau, QlikView  and Microstrategy


  • Undergraduate or advanced degree in a quantitative discipline (i.e. Statistics, Mathematics, Econometrics, Operations Research)
  • 2-6 years of hands-on experience in analytics, preferably in marketing analysis and statistics
  • Must have strong SQL coding skills across standard relational environments (e.g. Oracle, Teradata, MySQL, etc).
  • Strong academic qualifications, including advanced understanding/coursework in database management and math
  • Proficiency in at least one of statistical data analysis and data mining packages (e.g., R, SAS, knowledge seeker, Excel or similar)
  • Strong communications skills and ability to communicate technical content in an easy to understand way
  • Preferred: Advanced knowledge of data management tools including SQL/RDBMS, Hadoop and/or other big data technologies is a plus
  • Preferred: Experience linking multiple data platforms (social media, web data, unstructured data etc) and with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlikview)
