PayPal Credit is a strategic part of the PayPal business plan with important revenue-generating projects that impact overall company performance. The PayPal Credit User Experience team is responsible for all of the front-end applications and experiences for our customers. This person will lead the development efforts for a PayPal Working Capital Node.js and front-end and user experience development team. The ideal candidate will be an experienced lead or manager with the background of a full-stack developer, including experience in Node.js, HTML/CSS/React, and supporting front-end technologies.

• Candidate will fill the role of a Software Development Manager 1 as part of a 5-8 person scrum team that is itself part of a larger technology organization spanning multiple locations.
• The candidate will be expected to jump in as a leader for their team after a reasonable amount of ramp-up time. Ample ramp-up time and support will be provided for the candidate to come up to speed on the complexities of the PayPal environment – but there is a strong expectation that the candidate will be a self-starter and drive their own education.
• At this level, the candidate will also be required to build not only strong inter-team and inter-org relationships, but also relationships with the myriad of other teams we work with on a daily basis around PayPal.
• The candidate will need to become comfortable operating at a level of autonomy where they are the primary driver behind new software additions or fixes – getting clarification on requirements, driving discussion and leading the implementation.
• The working environment is Agile with 2-week sprints being the primary mode of delivering work which will be a combination of new development and maintenance of existing systems.

Job Requirements

* Experience: 8+ years of software development.

* Leadership: 2+ years of familiarity with a ‘Lead Dev’ or equivalent style role.

* Experience with Node.js and supporting frameworks.

* Experience with React (or similar front-end libraries).

* Ability to keep pace with the ever-changing landscape of front end development. Management Qualifications

Technical Qualifications

* Experienced software engineer.

* Experience with Webpack (or Gulp/Grunt/other build and packaging systems).

* Experience in core web front-end technologies including HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript

* Experience creating user interfaces and addressing cross-browser and backward compatibility issues.

* Understanding of key web development concepts (TCP, DNS, HTTP Protocol, SSL/TLS, certificates, etc.).

* Experience with RESTful web services and SOA concepts.

* Understanding of CI/CD methodologies.

* Experience developing automated unit, integration and functional test suites.

* Experience with Git source control and effective branching and release management practices.

* Familiarity with Unix commands and basic Unix scripting.

* Have a proven career of continuous learning and motivation for self-improvement.
