PayPal seeks a seasoned Engineering Manager for its Identity Native Platform team. In this role you will be leading a team of engineers to design and build the next generation of our Native Platform capabilities that are at the core of our Native mobile experiences and products. The Identity Native team builds capabilities that span the spectrum of Identity services including authorization and credentials management at a global scale.

  • Attract, mentor, coach and retain top notch software engineering talent focused on Native/Mobile disciplines
  • Experience building, managing and motivating highly effective engineering teams, conducting performance reviews, making compensation decisions and recruiting talent
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work on concurrent assignments with different priorities
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to grasp and convey complex product requirements or technical concepts
  • Results oriented person with focus on customer experience and delivering quality products
  • Manage scrum team(s) responsible for the delivery of world class Mobile experiences
  • Partner with business units, product, program management, analytics stakeholders and cross-functional teams to build high quality world class platform capabilities following agile development practices
  • Manage the full SDLC from design, development to deployment in rapidly evolving technology stack related to highly scalable Mobile applications, RESTful services
  • Facilitate and drive key technology decisions with senior technology stakeholders
  • Track business impact of team deliverables on a regular basis, and rely on performance data to make informed decisions about possible changes or improvements
  • Focus on quality and efficiency, suggest and drive changes that lead to higher developer productivity and improve product quality
  • Be a thought leader and build a culture of learning and sharing technology insights across the technology teams
  • Bring innovation to the table that helps in improving the resiliency of products and platform capabilities you are responsible for; sell your ideas and drive change


  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering working through the full product development cycle from initial design to final product delivery
  • 3+ years of people leadership experience, excelling at hiring, motivating, coaching and getting best out of people
  • Ability to build credibility with senior engineers and senior management; able to earn and sustain the respect of highly technical professionals
  • Demonstrated ability to create a supportive work environment for career and personal development
  • Experience defining and building Mobile APIs and SDKs for Native apps
  • Hands on knowledge of Mobile and Native software engineering related technologies; Swift, Obj C, Android, Kotlin, JAVA
  • Experience with React, GraphQL, Javascript, RESTful Services a plus 
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
