The Product Review Manager will be part of the Product Policy Review team within PayPal’s Consumer, Technology and Engineering organization. This team ensures that new products or product changes go through an appropriate review process with relevant stakeholders before launch. This role is an excellent opportunity to learn about PayPal products, product management and the product development life-cycle while developing critical stakeholder and project management skills

The successful candidate will own, manage, and track critical aspects of the Product Review framework.  You will be working primarily with product managers, as well as with subject matter experts in financial risk, compliance, information security, legal, privacy, and operations.


The Manager will:

  • Own the Deep Dive and Demo checkpoints of product reviews for new and existing products:
    • Learn about and use knowledge of PayPal products to expedite product reviews
    • Engage with local, regional and global policy teams to identify potential risks
    • Support product owners’ efforts to build policy asks into their development
    • Ensure policy asks are executed prior to product launch
    • Assess stakeholder feedback for relevance, accuracy and clarity
    • Run the meetings to successfully complete policy reviews
  • Act as liaison/ subject matter expert for product owners relative to completing policy reviews, especially within Agile development environment
  • Engage with policy teams to adequately bring to light the “why” of applicable laws, regulations and requirements impacting products
  • Prepare and manage the documentation of any and all reportable incidents or issues that may surface following development, such that product owners are aware of “critical blockers” versus “nice-to-haves” for their product launches
  • Work with the Director of Product Review to maintain, update and continuously improve tools, frameworks, documentation and processes

Required Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years’ experience within a policy/control function such as financial risk, compliance, legal, enterprise risk (etc.) in a global organization
  • Understanding of payments products/ experiences
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and influence cross-functional engagement & execution

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in business or liberal arts discipline
  • Knowledge of PayPal consumer and merchant products
  • Experience working in teams of knowledge workers
  • Background managing projects an advantage but not required
