The Risk Finance team is a key partner of the Risk and Platforms organization and is responsible for helping them meet business objectives and KPI goals by providing support for headcount management, budgeting and forecasting operating expense and analytical insights into transaction losses. We are also responsible for forecasting PayPal and its subsidiaries’ transaction losses accurately, monitoring risk performance across various segments globally, driving decisions on risk management, and enabling efficient investments by the company. Our team has grown rapidly, and we’re looking for a manager or a senior analyst to assume a leadership role in forecasting and reporting processes, establishing a reporting cadence and working with closely with the business leaders to help them allocate resources tightly to reduce operating expense while also minimizing transaction losses.

Job Responsibilities:

o   Lead the opex forecasting, budgeting and accounting close responsibilities for RRPS

o   Participate in financial modeling and forecasting of transaction losses for PayPal and its subsidiaries like Venmo, Xoom, and Braintree

o   Work closely with business leadership to support headcount optimization efforts leading to savings and greater effectiveness in the operation

o   Work cross functionally with Risk, Product, FP&A, and Controllership teams to manage transaction risks and drive transaction risk strategies to enable PayPal’s rapid growth 

o   Compile and communicate the monthly transaction loss results and drivers to partners in RRPS, DAMA and Controllership

o   Deliver monthly and quarterly financial close and forecast reports to finance and business leadership

o   Help in designing insightful financial reports and dashboards offering an end-to-end 'risk to financial metrics' perspective

o   Lead process improvement efforts to streamline financial planning processes for efficiency and accuracy

Success drivers:

o   Independent self-starter; Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and partner with different teams

o   Excellent verbal and written communication skills

o   Mine massive amount of data and perform large-scale data analysis to extract useful business insights

o   Identify actionable insights, suggest recommendations and influence the direction of the business by effectively communicating results to cross functional groups

o   Design and implement reporting dashboards that track key business metrics and financials 

Qualifications:

o   MBA or equivalent degree with 2+ years of Financial Planning & Analysis experience

o   Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent with 3+ years of Financial Planning & Analysis experience

o   Experience in solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches (or equivalent)

o   MS Excel and Powerpoint expert

o   Financial Modeling & Financial Statement Analysis

o   Trend & Variance Analysis

o   Budget Formulation & Management, P&L and Cash Flow Forecasting

o   SAP / Hyperion / Tableau / Access/ BPC

o   Experience with SQL or other programming languages (Python, Java, and/or C++) a plus
