The Business Operations Manager is a key part of the Business Operations day to day processes ensuring the hygiene and health of the UK business is optimal and the team is set up to win.

The UK Business Operations team combine analytical, strategic and executional skills to support the UK MD and Site Leader in managing the UK franchise. The team members leverage their skills across a broad range of initiatives in different parts of the business, but always with the aim of driving the growth of PayPal UK. These activities include performance management, business case development, internal consulting, leading strategic initiatives, launching new products or business lines and project or programme management.

The Business Operations Manager will be a key member of the UK Business Operations team, reporting to the Director, Business Operations. This person’s main responsibility will be to ‘tell the story of PayPal UK’ by defining, implementing and improving performance management processes in the UK business

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identifying, tracking and communicating Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) across the PayPal UK business
  • Understanding the drivers of business performance by building and maintaining relationships with senior leaders and business line managers across different domains
  • Sophisticated at problem solving adapting to the ever-changing environment and reacting quickly to meet challenges
  • Understanding and consolidating key achievements, challenges, risk, insights and progress against key initiatives and communicating these to stakeholders, most notably the UK management team
  • Designing and/or improving processes and channels to communicate business performance; leading the communications with the UK team on business updates and milestones
  • Developing performance management best practices and rolling these out throughout the company
  • Supporting the PayPal UK strategic planning processes
  • Leading or participating in other key commercial growth initiatives

Job Requirements:

  • Prior business experience in fast paced agile environment
  • Ability to work and lead cross-functionally with external and internal teams including Finance, Product Management, Marketing, Sales, Legal, Risk, Support and Operations
  • Track record of excellent execution, a hands-on 'get things done' mind set Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-starter, able to operate independently and be successful with limited need for guidance
  • Customer focused, naturally including customer perspective in plans, decisions and actions
  • Energetic and positive, with a 'can do' attitude
  • Advanced skills in key tools such as Microsoft Office and Salesforce.com would be desirable

Preferred Qualifications

  • The individual will need to have an enquiring mind, a proactive nature, an interest in leading initiative, commercial acumen and a fascination for discovering insights, trends and business opportunities.
  • Experienced in building fruitful relationships with people from different functions and backgrounds; comfortable communicating and interacting with senior executives
