You will be a leader in PayPal’s Global Business Analytics unit understanding the Overall Business drivers. You will be interacting with senior leaders as their partner to present state of the consumer and merchant growth, identify drivers behind performance. You will then influence Product and Marketing teams for deep dives and tactical actions and drive actions towards recommendations. This team is the connecting fiber between Product, Marketing, and Finance and you will be in the driver seat.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ownership of the Customer Funnel (Activation, Engagement, etc.) and the ability to explain drivers of change
  • Develop a deep understanding of PayPal’s Overall Business. Identify key business levers, establish cause & effect, perform analyses, and communicate key findings to various stakeholders to facilitate data-driven decision making
  • Discover new opportunities to grow and optimize the business through analytics, financial modeling, and business case development
  • Identify key metrics and build exec-facing dashboards to track progress of the business and its highest priority initiatives
  • Perform analytical deep-dives to identify problems, opportunities and specific actions required
  • Be able to roll up your sleeves and work with large quantities of data by using SQL, SAS/R or other data and statistical tools as well as reporting tools such as Tableau. Experience building financial models and scenario planning is a plus.
  • Lead a team of analysts to execute on wide spectrum of projects.
  • Ability to understand what matters most and prioritize ruthlessly
  • Comfort with ambiguity and frequent context-switching in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. i.e., whether in PowerPoint or an elevator pitch, you need to translate complex concepts into layman’s terms and influence both peers and senior leadership

Basic Qualifications:

  • MS or MBA from a top-tier institution is required. (Or equivalent work experience)
  • Strong SQL ability and familiarity with statistical packages (SAS or R) and reporting tools (Tableau).
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and juggle competing priorities
  • 5-7 years of work experience in similar analyst roles, including experience with high data volume environments in financial services, credit, insurance, banking, or internet services.
