PayPal is looking for a high-performing and detail-oriented Revenue Manager to help develop and grow the Company’s revenue accounting operations as the Company scales to $20 billion and strives to be the leading FinTech company globally. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who would like to play a key role in Finance/Revenue, to develop his/her career progressively and comprehensively at a fast growing company in the field of online payments. This position will report to the Director of Transaction Margin in the Finance organization.

  • Participate in the month-end and quarter-end close procedures including preparation and/or review of journal entries, reconciliations, and other close requirements
  • Assist in preparing data and other support information requested by management and SEC Reporting team for 10-Q/10-K reporting purposes
  • Help coordinate quarterly and annual audit requirements with external auditors
  • Serve as a technical accounting liaison in the deal review with various members of global business operations, including legal & sales.
  • Advise business on accounting treatment relating to Multiple Element Arrangements relating to SOP97-2 or ASC 606 (software, hardware industry background is a plus)
  • Review customer contracts for revenue recognition to ensure compliance with appropriate revenue recognition standards under US GAAP/ IFRS.
  • Prepare revenue accounting reports and analysis to support month end close, account reconciliation, quarterly filling and disclosures.
  • Ensure internal controls over the contract review process and revenue accounting process is in compliance with internal controls and SOX
  • Assist in developing whitepaper or accounting memos to support Company’s position or policy election on certain revenue recognition issues
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal team members and cross-functional teams
  • Evaluate current revenue process, accounting, systems and procedures to identify scalable alternatives for improvement

Experience/Skills Required:

  • 3+ years total experience in public accounting (ideal candidate will have Big 4 experience with publicly traded clients or technology clients) + 2 years of private accounting experience
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross functionally and at various levels within a company
  • Ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities effectively in order to meet deadlines
  • Experience with FASB standards and their adoption, practical application & familiarity with Topic 606
  • CPA and/or CA with excellent planning and managing skills
  • Combination of strong communication and partnering skills in conjunction with technical accounting experience
  • Intermediate/advanced Excel skills (e.g. pivot tables & vlookups experience) and ability to work with large volumes of transactional data
  • Financial systems knowledge and expertise with core financial/accounting applications (e.g. SAP)
